I'm not much of a necro, but I gave chasm a shot last night with 2 swords and -10ac. My swords had about 1300hp each. Yeah it worked, kind of, figure shifting works out better though in mana efficiency. Healing self is expensive. I tried to acid blind the mobs, which proved hard to land. My pets died after two mobs, of cause if I shift I could take several.
I can see how a prime necro could do well... and how a couple of level 40's could maybe group nicely there... so although the area can have it's uses... [b:3aulnpfq]will it actually be used[/b:3aulnpfq] outside the forge? I doubt it... and by all means feel free to point out the small 40 groups running there... cause I doubt it will happen much.
Like the brownie and shift lag... why would I use it over an eudaemon or a nightmare? This is the problem... nice improvements are being put in the game but they seem 'timid.' There is always this give and take approach. Sometimes I just wish someone would grow a back bone and do something that's just outright good... without having to give and take all the time under the "fear" of over powering players.
What the heck is wrong with saying... ok... lyme cap is now 10m... I mean really... why not? Or make 5x40 cap higher... there are just so many little "thorns" people seem to scared to remove. So they do this silly little give and take routine which makes it seem like something is good but the truth is you just come out even.
Qudos to Brad for Mystica and Judge for the new druid improvements that were excellent without the give and take philosophy.
I'm probably going to rant about druid pets sometime soon, I'm just trying to come up with some witty and sarcastic way to make my points... working on a few ideas
