I am starting to think all this mud is good for is new classo and thief/blasters why don't you make area's for warriors instead of focusing on all the other classes or would you rather thieves become the tanks of the mud.

When you type score, how much of the world have you seen? How can you be sure your statement is correct?

Although I too think this game is biased to stab/blast as a person who has [b:2lxoni0d]soloed[/b:2lxoni0d] more xp than anyone by multiple billions in the past month... there are ways you can make do... you just need to work them out, and work hard to achieve your targets.

stab/blast is good for solo but there are some classes which are supposed to be group classes. bards and tanks for instance. i doubt you can make solo 100m per hour with bard though it's quite easy for mages or thieves.

it's just about your way of playing: if you like solo runs - make thief, if you prefer to be in group - make tank or bard, if you suffer from megalomania and want everyone to execute your orders - necros is your best choice. 8)

Warriors don't suck, they just are too boring.

Good to know. I can't think anything good for bards except prongs and few other n00bish areas. It's not bad but it's a way far from 100m/hour.

p.s. Do you run Dark Dreams?

warriors develop more slowly imho, but i find them to be some of the most powerful characters in the mud.

An old skool warrior can walk up to a mob with -12 ac and parry, stab it, and blast it down while his or her eudaemon is healing. If you whiff, u can disengage and try to stab again. Not to mention that old skool tanks now have tumbling defense, which makes thief a good alternative to monk in tank classo.

There has been a trend towards more stab blast and less offlyme classic xp groups. When I was leveling Rub I led a lot of ss xp, but the bigger ss stuff, not infirm/koz/pcreek, which have become more popular of late.

I used to grab a few people, start in theris and sin's keep, then move up to ettins, temple of fiends, and finally demonweb. With leader or tank xp you can really do well.

BH xp is a lil easier, you can start in castle, work your way up thru dmount to the black dragons, matterhorn, and volcano.

Seems to me that a lot of the people who led this stuff in the past have moved on to other things atm. The balance of gameplay changes slowly over time. The creators are aware of it and do occasionally intervene to make sure that there is a good balance of playing styles.

So, please dont get too discouraged. I was really frustrated with rub between levels 3x40 and avatar. But I got a lot more powerful soon after that and after I did a lot of drachma quests.
Talk to the clown.

I just checked. I ran through prongs and then hit necropolis with the mana I had left over. Made 43m without pets.

There are alot of factors such as time played, player objectives, etc., but thief prime hasn't been in top 3 exp or gold for over the past month. Just an observation.

That's it. Kida still can't kill big guys in necropolis like spirit father, darkmage or caretaker. Although she is 19av with full set of charisma eq. Avatar bonuses definitely should help.

blah solo xp sux, Sa does 140 mil a run without regen. but its so boring...
like what others say,its bout time played n how much motivation a person has for something. all class' r strong, they have their own ways of getting their own kind of exp, just needs a lil bit exploring. im not that experienced in the way bards solo with pets for xp,but imo they rock at leading other kinds of xp. plus,xp gets boring after a while anyways

agreed...

If you think that things are difficult for your character, maybe you're meant to play something different. I know I cant play a mage and I am not attentive or fast enough to be a cleric. Not enough patience to be a Bard or Necro. But I do know I am good at stabbing and dieing a lot... therefore theefy is mah reign..
