warriors develop more slowly imho, but i find them to be some of the most powerful characters in the mud.
An old skool warrior can walk up to a mob with -12 ac and parry, stab it, and blast it down while his or her eudaemon is healing. If you whiff, u can disengage and try to stab again. Not to mention that old skool tanks now have tumbling defense, which makes thief a good alternative to monk in tank classo.
There has been a trend towards more stab blast and less offlyme classic xp groups. When I was leveling Rub I led a lot of ss xp, but the bigger ss stuff, not infirm/koz/pcreek, which have become more popular of late.
I used to grab a few people, start in theris and sin's keep, then move up to ettins, temple of fiends, and finally demonweb. With leader or tank xp you can really do well.
BH xp is a lil easier, you can start in castle, work your way up thru dmount to the black dragons, matterhorn, and volcano.
Seems to me that a lot of the people who led this stuff in the past have moved on to other things atm. The balance of gameplay changes slowly over time. The creators are aware of it and do occasionally intervene to make sure that there is a good balance of playing styles.
So, please dont get too discouraged. I was really frustrated with rub between levels 3x40 and avatar. But I got a lot more powerful soon after that and after I did a lot of drachma quests.
Talk to the clown.
