yes, in the lower to mid-eighties when Reagan was in da house
[quote:qauy948c]having a job[/quote:qauy948c]
People, not you directly, spend more energy making excuses about not being able to find a job than actually going out and getting one. And that was under Reagan,Bush Sr.,Cliton and Dubya. I have yet to see drive into town without at least 1 Help Wanted sign in a window. Maybe it wasn't the ideal job for whatever reason but it was a job. Which brings me to point #3
[quote:qauy948c]taking the 15 percent pay cut right before I was laid off because the economy went in the shitter and corporate greed[/quote:qauy948c]
Dude this is America, nothing stops anyone from setting up his own business if he has the mindset and heart to do so. Many men and women have said screw it with what they consider poor wages and set off on their own and made it. True alot of them have failed due to poor planning etc etc BUT how many more, went on to make it on their own terms? I can appreciate hanging on to a crappy job because you might have time invested,insurance,401k etc etc but c'mon. Life is too short. If you have the mindset that your gonna make it whether it's working for yourself or someone else, there is NO excuse to be miserable.
In conclusion,

Forgiven, and I agree those were better days. But not because of the economy. I'd never thought myself growing up that one day I'd have to explain to my own kids why people want to kill them because of your religion. That people want to hurt you because you disagree with them. That the world now is so unsafe that you really can't trust your neighbor and even though your kids play together, you keep an extra watchful eye out just to see who might be trying to influence/hurt your family.

I feel ya pain. If we ever meet, I'm buying the first round.
