I lost a battered suitcase loaded with months and months of cps, eq, decanter, yadda, yadda, yadda. Could it have been stolen? Maybe, but not likely. It had corpses and at least a hundred items of varying weights. I'm not sure if this is related to the druid bug but was I the only one not aware that aggressive spells have a chance of blowing up eq (while unshifted)?
I generally never read the crier because, in general, it is just a bunch of whining. Yesterday, I did in desparation after I lost all my stuff. There was a post from Splork stating that fixes were made so that all aggro spells but acid would not blowup eq on saves. Of course, this would have been great information to have before I spent the previous hour or two acid showering eyeballs in the school of Chol. So I sign back on to have a conversation with Splork. I would have been better off smacking myself in the head with a hammer a few thousand times. Why so hostile (topic for another day)? He informed me that no eq would be returned that was lost due to spell saves. So really, I'm all bent that I lost my shit and then I have to listen to him tell me I'm an idiot since this is code that has been in the game for two years, etc, etc.
I have never been one to bash the immorts for changes they make for the greater good of the game. Hell, I even appreciate the shit they do. And I know that the immorts eat a lot of shit sammiches. My question is why bother? Why spend so much time working on improving a game for players to enjoy and then just take a dump on them when there is a ripple. I guess it must be on the order of Soup Nazism.
One more thing. If this bug is not a bug at all but an intentional adjustment to old code, does it make sense to blow up a container (like a robe or a suitcase) with all of it's contents? Seems way, way excessive.
