paralzed, need help

Postby Mosaix » Wed Dec 14, 2005 12:56 am

Its bad enough you guys pin cleric primes into a corner, but this thread takes the cake.

New ideas are fantastic.

However

nab lis and I have spent the last 15 mins being paralyzed and cant do anything. Without ICQ it would have been much worse and Id been much more angry.

We opened a cache and a mist sprayed out. It paralyzed us.

You by doing this you are disrupting the mud. If your going to put code like this in, have the smarts to check it to make sure a player can get out of it. Frankly its irresponsible and quite stupid.

Still very Paralyzed, and would like to mud again someday.

you need a monk to cleanse you.

Still it not wearing off after 15 mins is not acceptable.

After next reboot you will be able to tell if someone is paralyzed by looking at them.

and if you're solo and few people run the area? you just wait and hope the game crashes? perhaps, like blindness, it would wear off after a while...

Yeah, it wears off eventually. 15 minutes is a long paralysis; I think they mostly wear off much sooner than that.

Thanks for the help and comments.

We thought it was funny at first but after that long period of time with no end in sight we definately started to get grouchy.

Remove poison, stone to flesh and disepel did not work. Only cleanse got us moving again. So without a level 28 avatar monk we wouldnt have gotten out as it appeared at that moment.

In response to some peeps on the mud, it was at least 15 minutes going on 20 mins that we sat there before cleanse was cast on us. I had a clock on my desk and was patiently waiting for it to wear off :)

Annie mentioned to me that it can take 30 minutes to wear off. In that case my argument is that solo players without ICQ have almost no recourse but to wait in potentially agro areas and wait to die. Thats kind of a bummer.

Thanks again KJ for looking at it. I appreciate it.

Paralysis

Postby Avatar » Tue Dec 20, 2005 9:13 pm

After my own experience with paralysis, my opinion is that it kinda stinks. You can't use many commands at all, even non-game informative commands. Where, Who, Gw, even Help is unavailable. In my own opinion, at the minimum Help should always be available, even if you're slept or dead. Especially if there is a help file for Paralyze or Paralysis. Ideally, that help file should include the available methods to remove the effect.

Just more opinions,

On the plus side, remove poison seems to remove the effects. Just learned the hard way.
