ioun stones

I was playing a new character when I got visioned. I checked to see if anyone I knew was online and realized that no one was, except poolp. I had just been sleeping in the scribes and undoubtedly poolp came by and noticed I had ioun stones. He didn't notice when I left or something so he visioned me and came and stole my stones. I knew he was coming but didn't want to stop playing. So my options were run go hide in the scribes til me or poolp got bored, log off, or what? How do you keep ioun stones safe? It is kind of lame if a newbie character can't protect such things as ioun stones from a level 40 thief who knows the newbie has no means of retribution. I know things in robe are safe, but then you can't use the stones. So any ideas on how to keep stones safe?

You only need the stones in your inv when you mem. Once you've memmed the spells, they can go back in your robe. Most of us have a script similar to:

remove robe
get all.magefour robe
mem spell1
mem spell1
mem spell1
mem spell2
mem spell2
mem spell2
put all.magefour robe
wear robe

It takes a very short time for the script to run.

Of course you'll want to be somewhere safe when you run that alias
And get/put all.ioun is good if you have a mixture of stones.

Another thing to note is that your Int only has to be 18 during the time you're memming, just like the iouns only have to be in your inv during that time. So, go ahead and change your int gear and put it away when you're done too. (Just in case you didn't know).
