Pthieves - What's the story?

I didn't play for a month or two, and when I started again P-thieving seemed to have increased 100 fold. So in the spirit of adding to gameplay, lets even the playing field a bit. Those who pthieve should have a bad reputation in game, not just on the posts. Innkeepers and other safe zone mobs should chase pthieves away after they steal for like 5 ticks or something. That way pthieves have to have more skill than steal and rent. The pthieves can try to survive for a few ticks. It should spice things up a bit.

I'm afraid to say that, but Cat is Zam/Shake's char. Actually, I don't wanna believe this, but... but... Weasel, do you have any proofs which will support your position?
This all doesn't seem realistic to me, but we all know Zammie's nasty character...

yup - it was thanks to whatever ex-immort published that IP list a while back..
note: char ownership may have changed since, or if a pthief and a regular player log on from the same IP (like a school computer lab maybe) then that might be why.. although if Zam's character 'Zam' was running on the same IP as a pthief, he'd be on that list too...

I saw a few discrepancies in the list myself. I wouldn't count on it as rock-solid.

It may have helped if he made separate lists. Derro has a number of characers, Poolp used to share a connection with real players and Briar was sold to a real player at some point. So yes, there's good potential for bystanders to be sucked into the list through poximity.

Dear Krok

Here's some really cool information in return for your 'last player' advise: a pthief may actually have another char that is not a pthief char, believe it or not.

These chars are associated by IP, not classo, as I said - I've advised where this list came from, so take it as you will. It doesn't mean kill all these people on site, it means be wary, particularly if they are selling equipment which may well be stolen by their pthief char and transferred over.

Once again: there was a pwipe of lilttle chars. Zam made char with same name. He owns it now. And it doesn't mean he's a pthief! :PPP

Probably, since his char 'Zam' did not appear on any of the same IPs as any known pthief characters, so I guess you can strike 'Cat' off the list.. in fact I'll go and do that right now.
