if you're going to buy stuff from poolp on the chopping block ... stuff he's stolen from other players ... whats to say he won't either:

1. not deliver once he's got the money
2. steal it straight back from you

If I were you I wouldn't buy from him, but if you do get the equipment before you pay, then run like hell from him and his myriad of multicharacters.

Daisy
I guess everyone has forgotten there's actually a way to see if they're the same player or not. As a lowly mortal who only has access to what was leaked I can tell you that there is no record of these two logging on from the same or similar IPs. At least as of about a year ago, however, even at that time they both had the same levels they do now... so I'm pretty sure they're realy different people.[/quote:qle6atq2]

If you like I could (with admin cooperation) show you how to successfully multiplay undetectably ... its not difficult for the moderately knowledable

It's very easy, but that's not the point. I doubt either of the suspected that a list of all the IPs that everyone plays from would be leaked a year ago. Derro blatantly plays all of his MANY pthieves from similar addresses, logging them on and off to jump around the continents as needed. Poolp appears to have only 1 pthief, and it's never been on the same IP as any of Derro's mults.

To be honest, I'm kinda hoping that Poolp plays from a school, because I know some of the other chars that play on the same IPs he does...
but that's not the point. [/quote:163tw2iz]

I'm sorry what exactly is the point?

He's admitted multiplaying.
He could technically be multiplaying.
He hasn't when asked to given a straight denial.
If he was multiplaying it may not be detectable by IP or other tech methods.
Multiplaying is against the law.

Just because you don't suspect him, dosen't mean we shouldn't given that we have an admission of guilt.

Lots of Love,

Daisy

Actually I did share a home connection with a couple of people about 5 years ago, and I believe Clink and Splork have checked 'us' for multiplaying and well, we obviously passed the test and nothing has happened.

As of now, all I can say is I pity the people who dare accuse me of multiplaying with no proof, no right and obviously who do not get the sarcasm when I gossip silly things about multiplaying. Why don't you let the immorts do their own investigation and stop whining about it so much? I've even heard some dude gossip that immorts were stupid for allowing pthievery.

Look, why I pthief is none of anyone's business. If you hate it, keep your items safe. If you like hunting pthieves, do it. Is there that much to get pissed off about and be all dramatic about it, ESPECIALLY if I didn't touch any of your items? Is playing smart too much of a chore in this game?

And another thing, the person who created DontBuyFromPthief I think is abusing his rights as a member of the forum because he's sabotaging auctions on purpose and I wish for the immorts to do something about it. Of course I realize where I stand and I wouldn't mind if nothing happens.

Good day.

what is so hard about 'if he was multiplaying he'd be wiped'?

saying he was to wind up impressionable newbs is kind of amusing, it's not an admission of guilt.
Don't be stupid - we have politicians for that

Not an admission?

Postby Daisy » Wed Oct 05, 2005 10:16 am

I'm sorry but saying:

'Yes I am multiplaying'

by any definition this is an admission.

He may have been joking, trying wind up newbies, being sarcastic or whatever, that dosen't take away from the admission, he hasn't retracted the admission, and in fact he seems to be refusing to preferring the 'if I was the admins would do something about it line'

I am not trying to encourage the admins to do anything, nor have I suggested they do, nor have I complained about them in any way shape or form, in fact I don't think I've even commented on my views of the admins who (and this is an opinion of them) keep one of the best muds around working.
I'm sure the admins know what they're doing, and do it well.

This dosen't take away from the reasonableness of players who dislike rule breakers, commenting on other players who freely admit to breaking rules, or even of rules or behaviour they dislike.

Sigh. I kind of think you're the point. Pthieves do things to get folks wound up. You're wound up, congrats, he succeeded, you let him.

He's a thief. He can't steal ANYTHING you don't put in inventory. Take all your fancy stuff and put it in a robe. Go to the general store and buy a cheap canteen, a bag, some rations and a few recalls. Visit the bank and deposit some extra coins. Change gear in safe rooms in town whenever possible. You've just neutered his ability to affect your life in any meaningful way.

As far as transactions... the shipping system works great for chopping block transactions. It garentees that you'll get your stuff and you can even arrange to be on different continents from him when you recieve the stuff... so ranting about a bogus trade is fairly childish. Not that anyone should buy from him, but we already know that.

Settle down already.

Dear Daisy,
I really appreciate your point, but...

OMFG! You are playing for a month and whining already. What is _my_ point - you've chosen that game, which ACCEPTS pthieves. So deal with it and stop this useless discussion, because no one is going to change the rules because you want it so. And hell no, those guys are not multiplaying, don't be a little kid who believes everything once told on the gossip.

And if you are going to tell me to switch gossip off - you'll have another reason to be whining - ah ah, no one is helping newbies to get their corpses.
From Russia with love.
