Actually pthieves almost never steal from bags, because if its too heavy for their character to carry in inv, its a 100% chance of failure and 100% chance that you'll get boarded.

You're Aaron, if I'm not mistaken?

You should know that, you were one of the greatest pthieves back when I way playing as a proper char. (considering you are Aaron)

Yeah like I said it's a lot safer if you keep it in a container, that way it's not glaring and begging to be ripped off in inventory. The str thing is relatively new I believe, maybe 4 yrs old ? I miss the good old days :)

I glance at all of you alot. dad always said look but don't touch. and i would have to agree that many players are getting reckless with the items in inventory. a good case of thieving should help with most of this. not to claim the high ground, i had my 2.robe snatched just yesterday. But at least it was just my 2.robe, although i want that pair of dice back bad. before this current unknown pthief i think Gets was top dog, and took Bird for some big items, hell Gets even stole my brand new vault key once (that really makes you angry). But just keeping your chin up and putting items in your worn robe will save you from most problems. maybe you'll hammer the pthiefs feet some day soon.

Nods, common sense plays a big part, but when you're in a group and stopping for regen halfway through a run, or running to raise someone and when you get to there you get pthieved while changing into your raise eq, it's pretty rough. It doesn't do anything to improve gameplay or make it more challenging in those situations imho, it's just a nuisance, and certainly having to recall and/or run to a safe area just to get changed is detrimental to enjoying gameplay.

Comparitively, it seems there really isn't all that much to deter people from becoming a pthief. It's just part of the game I guess, just not a good part. The occasional pthief who does it maliciously (ie: steal robe, junk robe) really sucks the most - at least the pthieves that ransom stolen objects are doing it for a reason rather than just to be a complete asswipe and ruin someone's game.

What about a spell that will detect (or increase detection) thieveries attempt either done by players or mobs ?

One pthief I can deal with, keep your stuff safe etc. as people have pointed out, but to blatently multiplay and then to openly sell the loot in game and on the block is not behaviour that should be allowed.
Last time I logged on it clearly said --YOU MAY NOT HAVE TWO CHARACTERS ON AT THE SAME TIME NO MATTER WHAT---
yet this char was even boasing about doing it on gossip.
Why is he being allowed to get away with this? I was in BH shopping and every time I went to a different shop one of his many charactors turned up and looked at my inv.
I will not be buying looted stuff on the block and I will not be logging on to play while any of his charactors is logged on. He is spoiling the game for me, and the sooner he is dealt with the better. And I make no apology for whining Krok, some of us obey the rules!

If we were really multiplaying the immorts would have wiped us long ago, they don't need you to point it out to them.

I agree in almost every respect, except that I won't be chased away by such immature and selfish behaviour.

I know they justify their behaviour by saying they're teaching us to play better ... what a crock of poop, they do it because they can and they like winding people up. Just be honest and admit that you're not doing it out any love or good feeling for those of us who would actually like to play the game rather than break it.

If they arn't multiplaying, if they really are separate people playing (and not just the same person on different pcs in the same computer lab), why don't we hear a straight denial? Why do they encourage that impression? Why to they pander to the people they've wound up by stealing from their inventories by pretending to multiplay?
If they're not multiplaying then they're just as guilty in my mind for spoiling the game with this kind of wind up merchantry.

As for Krok ... if you don't want to listen to people complaining when they've a perfect right to, or gossiping on the gossip channel then switch it off and stop being an apologist for pthieves and multiplayers.

Lots of Love,

Daisy

I guess everyone has forgotten there's actually a way to see if they're the same player or not. As a lowly mortal who only has access to what was leaked I can tell you that there is no record of these two logging on from the same or similar IPs. At least as of about a year ago, however, even at that time they both had the same levels they do now... so I'm pretty sure they're realy different people.
