Blaster has re-enlisted into the US ARMY

Postby Blaster » Sun Jul 10, 2005 7:48 pm

Hey all,

Have an update on my army enlistment. I finally got everything set and signed up this last Friday. The experience was two days of being wore out and tired as hell. In the end I didn't get anything for bonuses due to being prior service and the army not giving much of a crap about us prior people, but yet they whine they are hurting for people, go figure.

I did however get station of choice but not like I had much to pick from since only two locations came up. Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Hawaii. Guess what one I picked? That's right, I am going to Hawaii.

It seems the army wants everyone fairly bad due to my departure date. I was hoping not to leave before late August or early September, but instead I have less then 2 weeks to get my stuff squared away and report. That's right, I have to report back to the MEPPS station at 6am July 21, 2005. Not much time, so I will be seen on the game very little since I have a great deal to do to get ready.

The good news is, I will still be active, for awhile it might only be via email until I have everything settled over in Hawaii, but I do plan on staying active. Also the unit I will be going to has just returned this year from Afghanistan so it is less likely that I will be heading out to the war right away, but still possible.

Lastly, This last Tuesday I went ahead and got engaged to my girlfriend, some of you know her as Charsi from the game. We have been together just under 2 years now and will be married on July 18th. Only a few days before I leave, but once I get settled over in Hawaii, she will be joining me and I am sure you will see both of us on the mud together once again.

Overall, I have a 3 year contract, and do plan on staying in at this point of the game, but also will have a 3 year tour in Hawaii, arn't I so lucky to get one of the nicer places to go? I thought so.

Anyway, as I said, I plan on being active still so don't disown me yet.
:D

Just wanted to say good luck over there, and enjoy Hawaii as long as you can. Congrats on getting engaged, and here is hoping you get to say in the US and spend as much time as possible with your new wife.

Good luck to both of you, and I hope to see you online occasionally.

Sounds like things are going your way!

Isn't it great to see people who know what they want to do with their lives? Here's proof that there's more to life than just xp runs and eq cycling!

Congratulations Blaster!

Best of luck staying in the country with your bride-to-be.

Yay Blaster! Congratulations!

Hope you have a blast in Hawaii. Congrats to Charsi too :)

It looks like I'll be out of Michigan until after you leave. Kinda regret that I won't be able to meet you before you skip town. Sounds like things are going great though :)

I asked her this last Tuesday, she accepted right away, then we found out where I was going and decided not to wait till I can get home and just do it before I go so she can follow shortly after I get there.

Ahhh I c.. Milking the process. Uncle Sam wouldn't pay for her to come if
she was just a gf. However as a "Wife" she would get a flight there and
everything. :)

Congratz again B :)

Congratulations and I wish you luck. Do you know if they're still restricting the reenlistment code folk such as R4s and is there an age limit on the reenlistment? When I tried to get back in after having been discharged honorably, it wasn't going to happen. Actually, asking you is moot, since you've shipped out. Anybody else know?

Oh, hey all! Long time now see!

Randy aka Morkeleb aka Minx aka Cannonfodder aka Freaka aka etc...
Malevolent aka Sarya is doing well too!

hmm.. dunno if relevant for you, but apparently the military is thinking of upping the max age limit from 35 to 42.

They arn't taking anyone with an RE4 code at all but you can work with the department of vetrans in saint lious on upgrading to an RE3 from what I understand. Then all that would be required is a waiver and those arn't too hard to get, just take time.

I am now in Hawaii, but will be leaving here tomorrow to head to Kentucky for training for a few weeks then return again to Hawaii. Charsi and I did get married on the 18th as planed and she will be returning to Hawaii with me once I return sometime in September.

I will stop on the game as much as I can off and on until I get settled and on track with my life, might be a few months before I am back on a great deal but will do my best to stop on and god sanc my followers and chat some. Just beware, I will be using basic telnet so expect tripple the norm of typos and spelling errors.
