Raven's Roost clasps

1. Regarding The Dragon Emblem and the Ruby Spider Brooch:

No, I didn't change their stats.

It was brought to my attention that these items could be attached
to pretty much any item. That was an oversight on my part and has
now been remedied. Each of the aforementioned items should now
only be attachable to the intended item types. No other changes
to these items were made.

Good fix, it was kind of funny to have multiple dragon emblems equipped.

Was it intentional that the ruby spider brooch is a inferior copy of the Life and Death clasp forged in dark chasm? If it is intended to be used as equipment, rather than just as a forge cp, it would be much better as a shield or helm clasp.

Hey, thanks for your suggestions. We're always looking for ideas like this.

It's true that this item is part of a forge, and that is indeed it's prime function.
Also, in this case, the item can be used as a regular item without stepping on
the proverbial toes of the Clasp of Life and Death. While this wasn't actually
an intention of our's, it does seem to work out nicely in this context.
Personally, I've always been a fan of dual-purpose items.

The real problem with making a hasty changes such as putting an Undead
Control clasp on another slot is that you run the risk of creating
obsolescence in a number of pieces of equipment. For example, what good
would shield of stolen souls be if you could just apply UC to any shield? Its
value would be diminished. In an attempt to maintain some semblence of
relevance with existing equipment, I'd have to look at things a bit closer
before I could make that sort of decision. This, however, in no way removes
the possibility that something like that couldn't appear in the future on
another item in another area. Also, bear in mind that there is a large
number of items that either don't appear on the eq list, haven't been loaded
and identified yet, or both.

Clasp bonuses stack with whatever they are placed on; a brooch on a shield of stolen souls would be worth +2 UC.

The real risk might be obsoleting drachma gear. If you add so much undead control to the game that no drachma items are required to cap it, then what is the point of the drachma gear? :)

As necro 2nd, I currently need either the tier 3 Undead Control rune, a single drachma item, or a new eq slot/clasp in order to hit my cap. I'm not sure what the situation is for primes, who have higher caps but also can access a few prime-only options.

Also, I'm not certain if my cap will increase between 26 avatar and 40 avatar.

I forged your blade this afternoon. It looks fancy.

The Blade of Eternal Damnation..It glows red! ..It emits a faint humming sound! (slices, allows deathblow, no obvious proc)

You feel informed:
Object 'blade eternal damnation forge rr', Item type: WEAPON
Item is: HUM EVIL MAGIC
Weight: 3, Value: 536478gold, Worn in: TAKE WIELD
Damage Dice is '3D6'
Can affect you as:
Affects: HITROLL by 2
Affects: DAMROLL by 2
Affects: CON by 1
Affects: REGEN_HP by 2
Only those who are at least novice avatars may use this item.
