The postings in the gossip section are so ugly there's no reason they should be on the front page.

Why would we want someone new to the mud reading political propoganda, racist remarks, and age inappropriate material?

The change was my suggestion.

Maybe someone needs to explain to me what the "General Chat" message board is for. I don't know if this is directed towards me but I would hardly call anything I post to be racist or inflammatory. Yes I do post political articles and I am sorry if it hurts your feelings that some people don't believe the Federal Government should be telling us what toilet paper to use. If this is not a message board for General Chat then change the name to "Only slothmud material board".



Edit: The live info on on main page is not working. I checked it the night of the quest and it didn't show a group so I figured the quest hadn't started yet. Then I notice today it has the same info. Maybe we should care more about functionality and less about trying to squelch people's opinions.

It was just a suggestion. Obviously someone thought it was a good idea, because they implemented it. Regarding my panties, kiss my ass. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

why are we catering to snot-nosed, whiny "my poor eyes can't stand controversy" a55holes who don't need to be here in the first place if they don't like the conversational content on the crier? quit kindergartening and babying everyone. this game is not played by sheltered ninnies. if you are on the net at all, you will at some point get exposed to non-pretty thoughts and ideas. don't sugarcoat the truth - it is a waste of time.

we are no different on the crier than ingame. what newbie won't try a game out because of how players talk on forums? how are they to know the difference between actual players vs forum trolls when most players have multiple characters in a game and sometimes choose usernames on forums that are *gasp* NOT THE SAME AS THEIR CHARNAME! when i am checking out a website for a game that is new to me, i really don't give a damn about the forums bullshite. it is just people's opinions and they are entitled to express them. no one online expects us to be "please" "thank you" and "oh gosh." no one is that deluded. so quit trying to be the thought police and let them see that we are like any other gaming community - some players will always disagree with each other.

if you're going to take the unpleasant posts off the front page, then take down every single post of a hot chick in provocative poses and next to no clothing too.....oh wait THOSE are okay. it's okay to let surfers see that we are posting some form of porn but not okay to let them see us argue about politics. give me a fu k k ing break. what new player won't come to the game just because we hurl insults at each other on the forums? get real and quit nerfing EVERYTHING. leave the crier alone - fix the real problems that people WANT fixed (*cough* heal self while blind *cough*) rather than wasting time on something that isn't broken.

lol, you clever beast! change the subject! remind them that i cheated with my immortal and distract them from the topic we were discussing in this thread. yes i did cheat by god sancing and restoring a few characters...what imm DOESN'T at least once do that? shrug. ember is dead and buried. now get back to the opinions i expressed and comment those, rather than dredge up my sins. my cheating has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

p.s. and if you want good pr, you would be sensible to REMOVE posts about corrupt and cheating imms. it seems counterproductive to me to tell everyone that your immortal staff may or may not be trusted. and if you think that you are showing the public that bad imms are harshly dealt with, think again. all they will see and remember is that i cheated. not that i was deleted.

We were getting a lot of new players and at the time there was a lot of negativity right on the home page of the website. Normally if I log onto a place and see that sort of negative comments about the game, I become uninterested and look for a better place to go. I just don't like seeing that much negativity, and it gets people thinking maybe the mud is really screwed. It's not screwed, people are just very strong emotioned about things and we've known each other for quite some time.

We decided that all that negativity right there on the front page was a bad thing. And I support that 100%. Now, Splork has mentioned that he is planning on bringing back the "new since last" link, but put it in a place that's not going to be right out there on the home page.

There's plenty to fix and do up here, so we thank you for all the patience you can muster.
