New Lockers Around the World

Postby Toxis » Mon Mar 02, 2009 1:01 pm

It appears many merchants have taken the idea of lockers from Valkyre and have gone across the world to share in the technology... and to make a killing.

There will be one room on each continent, does not mean it is in town, that will have a sign in the description of the room. There is only one new room in Sloth that has been created for these lockers, the rest were rooms already in Sloth.

To find the lockers, "look sign" will probably be your best bet at finding the rooms. They shouldn't be too hard to search out.

Hopefully this helps out when immortals can not make vaults right away for the players.

Enjoy,
Tox

Thanks - regardless of the reason, this is a great idea for players who have graduated from Valk but can't yet afford a full personal vault (leveling can get pretty expensive when you're relatively new).

It's not exactly like Valk lockers though, I forgot to mention that.

The Bar
A single slab of thick marble runs the length of the bar, with chunks
broken out of the near edge. A mirror sits behind many different glass
bottles. Stools are lined up in front of the slab, and a rather tarnished
brass rail runs across the floor. [b:1vtncjom]A brand new sign has been placed on the
wall behind the bar.[/b:1vtncjom]
Exits: West
The bartender polishes a mug with a stained rag.

You may purchase a locker at the cost of [b:1vtncjom]10,000,000 gold[/b:1vtncjom].
The locker will be capable of holding up to 20 items.
To buy a space within the vault please type buy locker.
To see what is stored inside your locker type list.
To deposit a item within your locker type deposit item.
To remove an item from your locker type withdraw slot number.

You are in Troglodytes.

To buy a space within the [b:2num1pnt]vault[/b:2num1pnt] [u:2num1pnt]please[/u:2num1pnt] type "buy locker".
To see what is stored inside your locker type "list".
To deposit a item within your locker type "deposit <item>".
To remove an item from your locker type "withdraw <slot_number>".

fixed

PS#1. In 1st line "vault" should be changed to "locker" since a player buying a locker.
PS#2. I suggest that 'please' is unnecessary. We're not in kindergarden! Be cynical, people love it (example: Autolycos, Yinao, ...).

From memory, a single vault (or home) is 15mil coins now, so this setup is still pretty good value imho; a 33% discount for not having a personalized room, yet still performing the same basic function.

Tox, are these 'budget-vaults' upgradable later to personal vaults (presumably would give 7.5mil towards a personal vault), once coders are able to start coding them again more readily? Or these are permanent and non-deletable?

If this off-VK lockers work the same as VK-ones then i guess the answer is "no".
At least not for sorry 5M - move a room, eq in it, add room_desc, create a key and restring it... Definitely not for 5M.

In Thalassas

From Entrance (Homing Scroll) - sw

House of Locks

The room is filled with locks and chains of many varieties. The
locksmith has fallen on hard times, so has began selling lockers out to
those who need them. A wall lining the back wall houses hundreds of large,
metal boxes, each with a giant lock on its front. An open doorway leads
east out into the street. A large sign has been placed on the wall behind
the counter.

In Settlestone Citadel

10n2eu from recall

Raldor Firerock's Tower
This is the room of the head dwarven merchant, Raldor Firerock. As the
leading economic advisor to King Granitecrusher he has been given the
entire southeastern tower. His room is cluttered with various boxes and
crates. On a desk in the corner you can see notes about various cities and
the kinds of items the dwarves export to them and import from them.
Judging from his notations, it's apparent he is working hard to keep
Settlestone wealthy. A sign has been placed on the front of his desk.

Aisholm Town

2wn from Gog (ticket seller)

Entrance to the Tower
The room looks like it has been built from a single rock. The walls
have a flowing quality, as if the rock has not been carved but molded.
Boxes and crates are stacked everywhere, leaving very little space between the door and the stairs. A sign has been set into the stone wall.

A basic dwelling is 10 mil. Lockers and dwellings are not upgradeable. Smallest upgradeable unit is house I believe, which is 15 mil.
Talk to the clown.
