Chop

Postby jezer » Wed Sep 03, 2008 9:06 pm

I need a relo book soon. I remember hitting the mob with Yasik... Hermes right? Chop mob. I'm also forging Sleeves of the Laughing Rogue which requires me to hit the master thief in CK.

Now I've killed the thief a few times, but I did it shifted with a nightmare. From memory it only takes 30-40mins with all the regens included. I can only manage -9 in my ac mode. I also only have 1 attack, 2 with haste which effects my chop rate substantially.

I wondered how possible it is to run other chop mobs in the same way? Also what ever happened to chop groups, and why do you think it's not done very much anymore? Is that part of sloth dying a bit you think or has it always been a thing thats not done very often?

Does anyone know how much damage a chop does roughly to a mobs hit points?

You can.
Chop xp is not as good as fast as 2 man stab/blast and needs to be better organized.
Not as many groups in general lately.

From what I understand with chop, correct me if I'm wrong, but each chop isn't a certain amount of HP. It's a % of hp based on what the Mob has remaining.

Actually, once you chop off all of a mobs limbs it dies, regardless of hp.

All chop mobs have around 3d4 limbs.

Interesting stuff... what Yinao said sounds about right. I remember when we hit spiritualist in tony's the first chops seemed to do more damage than the later ones, which suggests a percentage.

Wish there was a way shifted forms or pets could wield specs... but yeah, I doubt that's going to happen. :)

It's a pity identifying the specs doesn't give us a little more information about there hit rates etc. It would also be nice to identify the mobs, see how thick they really are, or how many limbs they have... if that is the case.

Oh, BTW, can't you throw the spec at the mob, doing a large amount of damage... I wonder how much damage that works out too, and how many specs you need to throw to do it.

Master Thief is a pretty easy chop. He can be a one run solo, provided you don't chop off your own head.

Hermes is an easy 4 man but can be done with fewer.

And chop is just boring, I think. I've been wanting 2 of those schmancy rings of the flaming serpent but I don't have the constitution.
