I heard Obama do his speel on the radio this morning on my way to work... It's constantly on the news here in Australia. I must say I was somewhat amused by his speech...

"But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. Let us build on our common history, and seize our common destiny, and once again engage in that noble struggle to bring justice and peace to our world!"

I would have loved to have had my face painted blue, yelled "freedom" at the top of my lungs, and then charged into the crowd mocking braveheart after this speech. It was like a wanna be, "I have a dream - Martin Luther" type speech. I was almost to the point of laughing out loud when I heard it. I mean I don't fall either way... this is US politics... I'm not even that interested in my own countries politics... But I found this hugely funny all the same. I can't believe people buy this stuff.

Because a man is a skilled and eloquent orator he is
ripping off MLK jr. Because he doesn't need cue cards
he's known as a talker not a doer. I think I would rather
have someone with focused thoughts and enough of a
vocabulary to get past 10th grade than a bumbling
idiot who is also just obtuse.

I'm not saying the guy is the best man in the US for the job..
there are a couple things I have heard about him that I don't like,
but shit....McCain? No thanks.

here are a few of the many things that disturb me about obama: he refuses to recite the pledge of allegiance, sing the national anthem or wear the flag of the united states lapel pin because he is "afraid of offending someone" yet at one of his photo-op press conferences, one of his staffers asked a couple of veiled muslim ladies to please move because their visible presence on camera behind obama could potentially embarrass him or something equally similar and juevenile. mind you, to the blind eyes of the politically correct flocks of sheep nowadays, very few people seem to notice or even think twice about these "minor details" but these things strike a wrong chord with me.

how is it offensive to be proud of the country you are supposed to be leading? how offensive is it to show support of the citizens who elected you? how about standing up for americans, mr obama?

granted, i understand there are far more important issues that i should be concerned with, but i am nevertheless disturbed and wish to babble pointlessly.

*stumbles off soap box and gropes groggily for coffee cup* bring on the flames! :)

not too much limbaugh...i don't watch that crap. it's lakkacoffee and i forgot to check snopes on the refusal thing. normally i do check things out but like the post says....i had too much blood in my caffeine stream. anyhoo i don't wanna talk politics. does nothing but raise my blood pressure so i will do what i always do and vote for the candidates that most closely represent my views - or at least i vote against the candidates that i would rather NOT see go into office.

When he was in Germany Obama said he was a citizen of the world, not the US. Hows them apples.

And here he is pledging the flag...

So then what does this mean?

[img:2dngi9k8]http://www.lapelpin08.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/mccain08lapelpin.jpg[/img:2dngi9k8]

And when it really comes down to it, its made in......

So if you are wearing a flag pin are you really supporting China?

You can post election stuff from both sides till everyone is on the ground passed out. Everyone will make their own decision in November regardless.

that particular picture with obama and the 2 foot tall hilary has been all over
the internet. its hard for me to know about the citizen of the world thing
but i imagine that it was taken out of context when he was talking to some
world leader types. like i said he may not be the best man for the job all
the way but i would rather him than mccain. and im damn sure going to
vote so i can at least have the right to complain later.

if you dont vote you can shut the **** up now
