I check the FORUMS (note the spelling a$$hat) on a regular basis, but haven't been able to play and usually don't post due to real life time constraints and responsabilities (namely a full time job as a restaurant manager and kids). But when I see blatant, irresponsibile posting of unsuitable content I do make my 2 cents heard. So just remember Ya-suck, I may not be saying much, but I am watching.

Uhhh, no AA being angry is just showing an emotion of being distraught. Anger itself is hatred manifest, asshole. And Banedon instead of being an A$$hole and "policing small net forums" c. I realize you are referring to the theory that feelings are a subjective experience of an emotion, and that emotions are unrelated to conscious thought and occur without reason. You state anger is not an emotion, but is a 'feeling' based on an emotion of hatred or being distraught (you were unclear on which), which actually is illogical, but nevermind, the basic idea is that conscious thought (or 'feelings') are a result of emotion. This is however a theory, not a fact, and one of several theories. However, if we are to accept that it is true, that still does not necessarily make your argument correct. What IS a fact is this: in certain individuals, anger is a base emotion with no conscious cause. These individuals are often referred to as sociopaths or even psychopaths, depending on how that emotion presents itself. Based on that fact, anger CAN indeed be an emotion in your theory, rather than a result of an emotion.

Although I guess that would follow that you consider some people here psycopaths. Based on the comments made so far, I would consider that dubious to say the least, considering you're the one making that call.

For my .02, anger is indeed an emotion...and here's my contribution to the conversation:

One of the keys to being successful is to adjust your speech to your audience. If you're talking to a group of psychoanalysts, it might be advisable to discuss the difference between emotion and feelings, and one being a subjective interpretation of the other. Indeed, for a group of psychoanalysts that may be a fascinating, deeply important conversation.

Every field has a specialized vocabulary. This is one of the basic facets of science, and it's the reason most classes always start with a list of words and definitions. As we grow older and become educated, we tend to discuss more complex ideas. More complicated subjects require a more complex and sometimes very precise vocabulary. This is one of the key factors why people don't understand electricity. "Electricity" doesn't have just a single definition, and the most general definitions don't convey very much actual information or insight into how electricity works.

There's an Irish comedian named Tommy Tiernan, he's very animated and loud and curses a lot. I'm sure you guys would love him. Anyway, this is a quote from him:

So yes, I'll say the same thing here. You're using the "anger is not an emotion" line just to have something to argue about, only as an opportunity to say that someone else is wrong. So yes, I'll say it, anger is a fu-cking emotion. If you disagree, go find a psychologist, a psychoanalyst, a retarded fu-cking person on a fu-cking subway, anyone but the sloth crier to argue the point with.
