options wanted on eqlist

Postby firebrand » Tue Jun 03, 2008 11:44 am

although i have only one option i want to see added to eq list options, i am sure there are other things we would like to see on eq page. i still wish we had the dressing room again, but that didn't make it to the poll. feel free to reply, flame, add own option requests.

Yeah bringing you another disturbing creation from the mind of one sick animal who can't tell the difference and gets stupified.

This is the second poll where I've noticed it seems player vibe is more becoming of the opinion, "why ask for change when it's not going to happen..."

It seems the immortals that have been around long enough to make valuable improvements to the code are getting fewer, and with less time on there hands.

We respect this... it's the same often for the players... priorities change in life as you get older. But I do wonder what the future for slothmud is unless the younger generation of players are empowered to contribute more. I think sloth mud will need more active coders and fresh ideas to keep new players interested in the future, not just new areas.

1) Longer passwords. 8 characters it's like 20th century, c'mon! I vote for 64 char max pwds.

We all know your password probably has something to do with that 300 movie with the spartans!

You might want to change it!

I vote for C, especially since:
A) I have the password to manage the contents of the list
B) I don't have access to edit the code, the html or the database
C) I don't have the time or desire for A, so don't want B.

When I was miserable at work many years ago, I enjoyed wasting my day cycling the mud trying to clean up the list, but that time is long gone. I'm now running a small development organization that might not be small for much longer, and would rather further the company than spend time working on the list.

I'd be more than happy to talk to someone if they want to take over the management of the list, as long as they understand that virtually nobody submits anything, and when they do it's usually treasure or a spellbook that was a random pop. Most of the rest of it, you have to pop yourself if you want it added to the list.

You're awrong, my friend. My password is unrelated to the "300", setting up such easy-to-guess password is just madness!!! :D :D :D
