So what happend to the whole idea? 4 months ago it was a boom, and now noone ever kills them and they are up all the time.

It kind of reminds me of small kids playing with bigger kids at a playground... at first playing with the big kids is fun, but then the big kid takes it too far and gets rougher and rougher. Eventually the bigger kid plays too rough, and the little kid gets hurt and bursts into tears. It's not rewarding or fun anymore and they run off to find other things to do.
