If it is hard to sympathize then why turn him down. I say leave him and wait about 3 months and find out if anyone other than me will lead it. It is a good addition to Salamis, the place where nobody kills.[/quote:22jozceq]

Mostly I agree with you - imms should care more attention to balance of areas they do. But on the other hand there are a bunch of areas yet where nobody kills for months. Just think of LAAAAM, Canaa, Maw, CoP, UD2, Vamp Lair, Blood River, Drakkan Forest and others. I think we just give an ideas for imms how or what to change in such areas to make it more valuable. I.e. ppl want to hit Salamis for Iblis and some decent stuff and I saw ppl who call tail from mana gator in Mana Pools yet.

Zalla was too hard simply because too many wandering mobs walking in splatting everyone, new area that no one knows, and some annoying procs. Most annoying is hes too damned hard to get to in a cf. Alhoon would never be run if he was like that because cfs are easy on those sorts of mobs. Wrong player has staff, everyone assumes the other guy has it, and whole thing is done. No one knows any special tricks for him. a bit of tuning and he might be fine, but too many swarming aggros, and that they're scavanging looters just means its too damned risky and too easy to cf to run that mob as is, especially if whole group goes down and no one has a beacon... how do we get past iblis to get back there, unless theres some shortcut I dont know about. The notion that it was killable as it was was silly, as is the notion that people would risk all their gear for a couple hours of frustration and 3 drachma.

Hes almost good, but group was a big group with a competant leader and still cf'ed real easy a couple of times, and fleeing procs on big honor mobs where people lose the honor from the kill because they got proced is real annoying (I'd suggest perhaps shouldnt do that proc while at awful)

But the idea that these mobs give too much honor is also just ridiculous. Truth's been going nonstop since the honor was introduced and only got to lord now, and each rank takes longer to get to than the last. Sure its easy to go from private to sergeant, harder from sergeant to major and much harder to go from major to general and its taken all this time to get to lord because honor cap progression doesnt increase as fast as rank requirement progression, let alone the fact that you no longer cap on every single mob like you did as a private. From the looks of things it will take at least 2-3 months to go to rank past lord if you're running every epic that loads, and if the progression is similar probably 4-5 for the next one.

+1 dam is superpower for thiefs but near useless for quad casters, not terribly useful and balancing as .1 ac. .1 ac allows balance and is most useful to everyone in their solo mode (except thiefs who dont believe in anything but +dam)

I for one appreciate the work on the honor system as I find it fun and interesting, if occasionally frustrating. If Zalla is as is people just wont run it and if he was too damned easy he'd be tooled up because people would run him all the time. Areas like river of blood theres no hope for, because frankly theres no eq thats worthwhile popping there, mobs are real too damned hard for crappy xp and theres no coins at all.

As Akasha stated in the beginning, the honor system was ideally created for the benefit of 5x40 tards to give them a new challenge, and it certainly is doing that, so when looked at in that light it's all good. Grats reaching Lord level Truth, that's awesome, and shows it can be done.
, and that they're scavanging looters just means its too damned risky .[/quote:17cevyti]

That was a mistake that was never intended. They are removed. That's why I interfered with my imm and got the looted eq from the corpses.
(I'd suggest perhaps shouldnt do that proc while at awful).[/quote:17cevyti]

nod, pc's shouldn't be made to flee when mob is at awful.

As for being challenging to get to in a cf...it's gateable...set beacons, bring staves. Iblis is worth the kill for his pop. So is the mana gater. Zallah only loads in one particular astrological alignment. Furthermore, I feel that having to kill the mobs in succession gives a feeling of progression, that you're actually on a quest, rather than just running up to the mob and smacking it. I think most of the frustration in this quest came from the bugs (recall point, looting mobs, gator repopped with pcs in zone) and from the fact that someone looted one of the big prizes which was personal. Sorry bout the bugs. There's a learning curve with this stuff.

An exploration of Salamis would reveal what that prize is. But I don't expect anyone to do that anytime soon.
Talk to the clown.

Off Zallah, but on epics.

Was thinking what rank means... and I came up with, money, wealth and power... which lead me to think of different rewards than +stat's to go with the epic ranking system.

*New Purchases become unlocked for Vaults (intercontinental portal etc)
*Purchases cost less in shops, and you get closer to full price for what you sell.
*Some sort of economic system to make ongoing money... kickbacks from the mining goblins :) Buy a share in the mine!

Obviously, different and scandalizing ideas... but wealth, commerce and science etc always follow people of high rank...

Now if you'll excuse, I'm off to make another TMC voting thread!
