I guess location might play a part in the perception of what being a 'liberal' means. Take me for example, I live in the south, the deep south, and my perception and prob others is that a liberal person is very passive. For example, they may look at both sides of the coin but they are content to set aside if it doesn't affect them personally. Now I admit, I could very well be wrong about this, but thats my perception.I also think age/maturity affects ones perception of being liberal. Example, when I was younger I use to smoke pot, drink, dabbled a little with other social drugs. I had very little morals about alot of things. I also considered being liberal a good thing. I had heard this was something liberals were ok with if not promoters. Not everything of course. However, as I have gotten older and realizing the errors of my ways, I find myself alot more conservative. Life lessons I know and somewhat hypocritical but I still have the perception that while liberals promote 'freedoms', they in fact continous want take all the freedoms away from everyone else to put everyone on the same playing field.Again, maybe I am wrong on this but this is from information I read/hear on the internet/talk radio/tv etc etc. Now, maybe someone from up north or out west has the exact same views towards conservatives. I pose this, maybe we are both right...or maybe we are both wrong.
