Autolycos is actually quite smart... just ill mannered.

Autolycos is like that crotchety old uncle that farts at Thanksgiving dinner after he asks your 3 year old cousin to pull his finger. Yasik is pretty much the stain that gets left behind.

At the risk of getting that oh so quaint brain chart reposted, I'd venture to say haste is more important to an "avatar druid" than most casters. +1 attack is a decent amount of damage per round for shift forms.
Assuming of course that if a character is being defined by their druid class, they're not actually killing mobs with blasting or pets from a class further down their classo.
