Yeah, old post... but I came across this finding information to support something that I've noticed recently.

Apart from necro's... not many people play a prime of the new classes... and even less of those play them through to avatar...

Why do you think that is so?
Prime Monks are bad thieves?
Prime Druid only good for regen?
Prime Bard just plan suck solo?

I'm trying to answer the question in my mind... where are the avatar druids... and do they suck? and why? When there aren't too many of them around, and only one in the hall of fame, I'm kind of wondering if all my recent efforts on a prime druid are for naught.

Even prime necromancers arise less often than any traditional prime class. I'd mainly credit several forms of momentum:

- Many characters still played today predate the new classes.
- People generally have more exposure to the traditional classes from other fantasy environments than to the new classes.
- Lack of new-classo prime characters people want to imitate.
Prime Monks are bad thieves?[/quote:3n6uk3fh]

Prime monks are not bad absolutely, but the advantage of prime monk over non-prime monk does not rival the advantage of a prime thief over a non-prime thief.

Monks have an unfortunate fundamental stat order, Con - Dex - Str - Wis - Int, making many of them roll str fourth. Thieves other than Th/Wa roll str third.
Prime Druid only good for regen?[/quote:3n6uk3fh]

Lack of benefits of prime druid over secondary druid.
Prime Bard just plan suck solo?[/quote:3n6uk3fh]

Prime bards solo well. They have major advantages over non-prime bards, so I can't explain their dearth on technical grounds.

It may be cool to look at in a few years, but the real question is "How many of those chars in a few years will be run by the same players?" Hehe.
Rules to Live by:
0) Always carry a recall!
1) Never summon anything bigger than your head
2) Don't sweat the small stuff. Gnomes for example.
3) A Rod of Silence means never having to say you're sorry.
