Possibly the best indicator of people's desire for something like this has been the Chaos port. It's been extremely fun each of the times it's been opened, especially with 10-20 players instead of the 1v1 frequent in arena. Running it in DoT once had the added benefit of heavy-hitting aggros, and I don't think anything bad was said about it. (Also, it was no-risk for those scared of getting pthiefed etc)

That said, CP has only been opened 4 times that I'm aware of, and it was enjoyable imo for different reasons than people support the PK cont for. It was fun because it was different and also temporary: see weekly forges, and also because it was run on a different server. You didn't have to put your mindless cycling on hold, you just fought during your regen and cycled while you waited for it to restart.

That's probably the biggest problem in my mind with the PK continent...you have to take time out to go to it.

Actually, there is something else similar (although not complete Chaos mode) in Demo Bowl, which hasn't been run for some time, but there were blocking/proccing mobs in addition to pvp with the added benefit of being playing football at the same time.

Rather than seeing all the extra work done to put in a continent for this, I'd think it would be simpler/better and the excitement not wear off rapidly if demo bowl / chaos port were just run more often.

Personally I'm leaning with the majority and say a pk cont would be great. There's a certain cleric I need to even things up with. I totally enjoyed the one time I got in on the Chaos Port, even tho I was a 2x40 (maybe just barely 3x40) running with the tards. Think I even managed to take one person out, if not I know i hurt him bad before I got dead.

So I say throw up some warnings and rules signs and let them with the desire and cajones to play pvp be able to.

P.S. --- And its not like theres any permanant loss besides some exps, would be just getting stabbed in the face by Auto for saying he can be a nice guy on occasion.

I don't know why people don't go into the arena to fight, I don't see this happen very often anyway. And if someone wants a pkill continent, where are the people stepping up to build one? I wouldn't have a problem with a pk continent, but don't create eq and spellbooks that make people go to the continent to get it.

If you want to make a pkill continent, make it with no high end or good eq. I'd go there, as long as I wouldn't lose exp or levels. But I don't want to go there on a day I just don't feel like being messed with trying to pop a piece of eq I need and some smuck comes along thinking fair game and just ruins my day. That's my only reason for not putting high end eq on it.

Another thing is, there would have to be strict rules on shittalkin. Cuz you know people are gonna want to, and that leads to arguing, which leads to people getting their panties in a bind.

I have no problem with a pkill continent, but I just see imms having too many headaches after it's put in. And it seems like it would be a lot of work just to make.

I wouldn't be against it, I'm just saying I think it would be a bad idea for sloth.

I started on it with Jake's approval in about 1998 or 1999. Characters were going to have to start and stay there for their whole lives. That was the plan
at the time anyway. And I'll be happy to step in the arena with either Yinao the cleric or Yinao the pizza bird. The main thing about the detractors' statements is that no-one would be forced to take part in this. Just like Valk,
you would not need to step foot on there. I'm sure if there ended up being some sort of perk you would here the crybabies crying that the adventurous
players benefitted more, yet isn't that always the truth, regardless of continent?

Well, now that there's a builder port, why don't you ask to get it started again? Because if a char can start there, and have to stay there, I think that idea would be more ideal.
