Yeah been there.. where it says -1, it's actually -0.1, unfortunately.
Worked out with getting the whole set and replacing what I have, I was basically the same or worse off, as certain eq had to be sacrificed to wear the set.. and that's not even taking into account it takes about 1800 drachma to buy the whole thing.

You forgot the hat.

How can you beat this eq honestly.

1.2 shield 18hp +10 resist fire
1.8 leggings +4hp +2hpr
1.3 hat 34hp 5hpr
.8 bracers 14hp
.8 guards 25hp 3hpr

This set has every piece with the highest possible ac and also 1.8 leggings which are unheard of. Not only that you get 95hp and about 10hpr from the set. Which eq are you wearing thats better than this. I can't think of any.

OK since you asked, it's an interesting result.. but for the end product, not worth 1900+ drachma.. at least not with my current stats. Here's why:

THALASSAN EQ (with all bonuses for full set)

Thalassan Royal Armor 375dr (-2.6ac +4hp +2hpRegen)
Thalassan Royal Guards 350dr (-0.8ac +25hp +3hpRegen)
Thalassan Royal Bracers 150dr (-0.8ac +14hp)
Thalassan Royal Legplates 350dr (-1.8ac +4hp +2hpRegen)
Thalassan Royal Shield 350dr (-1.2ac +19hp +res.fire)
Thalassan Royal Helmet 350dr? (-1.3 hat +34hp +5hpRegen)

..total overall, -8.5ac +100hp +12hpRegen +res.fire

WHAT I HAVE AT PRESENT IN THOSE SLOTS:

adamantite cuirass of the ancients (-2.7ac +30hp)
volcanic shoulder guards (-0.8ac +20hp)
polished rock sleeves (-0.8ac +10hp -5mv)
carborundum greaves (-1.7ac +waterbrth +1sys.shk)
tower shield of the great lords (-1.2ac +1dex +1con)
mithril studded war helm (-1.2ac +30hp)

...total overall -8.4ac +90hp -5mv +waterbreath +sys.shock +1dex +1con

OVERALL CHANGE:

I gain -0.1ac, +10hp, +12hpRegen +resist.fire, +5mv
I lose +1dex, +1con, waterbreathing, +1systemshock

BUT I have two 3x40 items now to replace.. keeping it less complicated,
dragon-skin laces (feet clasp) +1dex, +6hpRegen
polished spectrolite charm (leg clasp) +20hp +5hpRegen

but I am still down 1con, which comes out to 34hp for me.. so here's what I get for 1925 drachma:

-0.1ac (good)
-4hp (bad)
-waterbreathing (bad)
-sytemshock (bad)
+23hpRegen (good)

Worth 1925 drachma? Hell no.

Maybe once I have bought better stats... but no, as a Warrior prime, I need ac more than anything, and this set does not help anywhere near enough.

You could spend some extra drachma on fish scale buckles and gain +waterbreath and + HP regen...and last I looked.. U can wear 4-5 buckles clasped to different pieces of armor...

yeah it sounds pretty good, but 23hp per *minute* doesn't make that much of a difference when tanking and mobs are hitting you for 600hp a *round*, and clerics are healing you for 300+ hp a *round*..

HP Regen

Postby Avatar » Fri Aug 24, 2007 10:32 pm

Besides that, it's almost 100 dr per +1 hp regen. No thanks!

The thal gear would be nice if you had -12.9 and needed that last .1. Otherwise, meh...

You only need 5 pieces. There is no reason to trade in your Cuirass or buy the thal body armor. Geesh. As far as needing dex and con all I can offer is *comfort*.

I have a regen of 129 standing, 172 in battle and 322 resting. Another 23 would be right up my alley. Having the extra 23 would equal a restore a minute in battle and would give me a resting regen time of 3 minutes flat. I wouldn't call that trivial.

Actually no, go check it yourself. For maximum bonus, look at the ID again, eg:

Object 'armor thalassan royal elite low', Item type: ARMOR
Item is: PERSONAL
Weight: 10, Value: 50000000, Worn in: TAKE BODY
AC-apply is -2.5
Part of the set 'Thalassan Royal':
With 0 other pieces: affects ARMOR by 0
With 0 other pieces: affects REGEN_HP by 2
With 4 other pieces: affects ARMOR by 0
With 5 other pieces: affects ARMOR by -1
With 5 other pieces: affects HITPOINT by 4
Only those who are primary supreme warriors may use this item.

Note that says "with five OTHER pieces", meaning itself and 5 others, which is 6 in total, which means you lose the cuirass.
