While i appreciate the response i'll have to disagree that there is a lot of useable +hit eq for a thief. there's all of 4 slots where +hit is available that isn't occupied by dmg, and if you have monk and wear hand dmg eq it drops down to 2, a ring and a helm. and the helm can't even be worn by a thief, warrior and mage restricts so that leaves us a ring to wear w/ 2hit and no ac. thieves already sacrafice a lot of ac and other bonuses to run w/ their dmg, as well they should, that's the whole risk/reward of bein a thief. the problem lies in the fact that some other classes have an abundance of eq that doesn't require them to give up ac. no risk, still big reward. i deleted the rest of the post cause i don't wanna rag on any other classes, at least not on the crier!
again, i like the change, i just wish there was some eq for us to fall back on in order to be able to put the change to use and i look forward to seeing what builders are able to come up w/, i always love seein new eq! in the meantime i'll just get use to stabbin like autolycos. it'll save me a ton of money on all the poison i'm not using up by actually hitting a stab!
and to 12345 about missing w/ bros up, a thief w/ valor up hits about 90% of their stabs. i tracked vaire from the time he got valor to present and he's right at 90%. a thief prime w/out it stabs at an 80% rate, that's offa deju's tracker. vaire's sample is offa about 40k stabs so it's a fairly accurate number.
