Spell and Skill Idea or Help me pthief

Mage skill-- Identify spell
Would allow mages to know the true name of spells being cast about..especially from bothersome MOB's

Thief Skill- Snatch<target>
Would allow a thief to grab a random item out of a target's inventory. This would be interesting for both parties concerned.

Mage Spell-- Blanket
This would make a wanted person undetected by guards.

Mage Spell-- Fumble
If successul, target caster will either nocast or mosscast for a certain length of time

heh yeah I'd bet you'd love that one - a pthief wouldn't even have to look / glance at their victim anymore, or even bother typing out an eq item name to attempt to steal, nope, they could just run up to anyone, spam "snatch <victimname>" about ten times, and then bail with everything that person was holding.. can't see that skill happening.

Kewl. I gots an idea too: a pulse spell available to all classes which specifically targets pthieves and has a sloth-wide range, which when used wipes all pthieves online, all their alts, returns everything they ever stole back to the rightful owners, and then sends that same pulse back to fry the pthief's CPU, just to make sure they get the hint.

It could happpen. Really. It's probably in the works as we speak, because, like, I don't see why it wouldn't be..

It's a psionist skill and no psionist class gamein at momment. But other skills liek they are have been in for the classes so making them usefulable would no take much to make ingame. And since not againt the rules of pthiefing then sloth shouldnt diskouraged such changes if they game added to play

If I understand your suggestions correctly, your Fumble skill idea is effectively available already with the 'silence' spell, which can be very handy in the right situation.

Blanket could be quite handy, particularly for self-CRs.. I presume you mean it would clear your agro status with specified mobs, right? ..so they wouldn't attack on sight after you've already pissed them off (unless they are naturally agro anyway). Would save having to wait an few hours (or however long it is) like we do now. Used to be that they would stay agro until the game crashed.

The spell ID skill could be useful - I believe a few players have made triggers that decipher some of the casting emotes that mobs make.

The Pthief one though.. really, how do you *not* see that being excessively advantageous to pthiefs? Don't bother answering - it's a rhetorical question.

And no Weasel, I'm very aware of what silence spell is.. my line of thinking is that <MOB> would either cast an alternate spell *see mis-spell* or if another <MOB> in room, a chance to cast said misfired spell on it instead.. several scenarios could occur depending on throw of the dice.
