Could not resist the joke. But here is the serious suggestion. Since boarding is now for use of in game skills, I hope the immorts will consider listing why someone is on the board, so that players can decide whether the authorities can take care of it, or whether it is time for a little Lynch Law.
My further suggestion is to divide offenses into "grand larceny" - pthieving and "petty larceny" that is purloin aura and anything else the authorities decide. The first would allow for corpse looting, the second would allow for pkilling, but not corpse looting.
The reason for this is two fold, many of us are much less than inclined to enforce purlion aura or other in game skill use, while pthieving is a serious thing. The second is for game use, imagine the possibilities if there are thiefly activities - like trying to steal from shops for example - which can get you boarded for petty larceny, and are therefore risky, but perhaps worth it, and the antisocial actions of pthieving. This would make it possible to have autoquests and so on which carry the possibility of not merely getting killed by a mob, but hunted by the authorities will all the pain that being boarded brings, but without the draconian risk of losing all your eq.
Since boarding is no longer for straight up pc v pc actions, the pcs should get more information on what someone is wanted for.
Perhaps there could even be rewards for catching miscreants and so on, but that is more complex. The simple "tell us why they are boarded" would be very helpful.
