Forum settings

Is there any way to make forum:

1. Show first message at the top, all replies from top to bottom

2. Make forum show ALL the replies in ONE screen w/o dividing on pages 1,2,3 etc

?

There was a pretty large discussion and vote the last time the forum order was changed. The end result, you are in the minority and the forums were set back. Apparently the display order cannot be configured as a per-user setting.

Dividing the posts into pages has been discussed at other places on the web, if not here. It seems that showing a limited number of posts per page is helpful to people with modems or other slow links. I'm not sure if this could be set on a per-user basis either.
