a song of fire and ice

ok i dont' know if anyone else will be quite as excited about this as me, but FYI, George R. R. Martin and HBO are producing a series based on the books (one would assume he'll finish writing them before the show catches up...)

That series rocks. Any idea when the next book is coming out?

I know, I read all those books and now its like over year since the last one came out! It sucks waiting!! The series should rock -- there is so much going on though in each book that several seasons could cover just one book.

that's one of the main reasons i'm so happy. If they where talking about movies, or even a mini-series, you'd know right off the bat that it wouldn't nearly do justice to the series.
Hopefully something similar for WoT, at some point :)

This might just be enough to convince me to finally break down and get cable tv at the house.

It's a giant fantasy trilogy - that's not how they work.
