Whenever you call me a dumbass, because you stole my pop. I remember why I hate autumnal forest. People have higher level chars come and steal your kills and then berate you, or use moldy scrolls on you. Hell with that, theres a reason i stay on lyme.

Lets set the record straight here. Just because you are running a two man group in the autumnal doesnt mean all of the mobs are yours. Earlier last night, I hit a few of the smaller mobs with Zanax, mostly for gold and a little exp ( kender, harpy and miki). You and the other person you were grouping with were hitting the larger mobs, ie Dragon, warty, seeker, etc. I go back to town to bid on a few of the auctions, as Adagio / Baa was cleaning out his closets. When I returned to the autumnal, no one was there. Like a million times before, I start by killing the cleric. I've had him dispel me way too many times. During the battle, you and another char show up and start harrassing me with tells about how I am stealing your pop, snaking your kills etc. The reason I called you a dumbass was because all you had to do was ask, and I would have given you the gloves. I certainly dont need them. I even offered them to you later. So, if you want to hold a misunderstanding against me, so be it. I have always tried to be helpful on the mud, whether on vk or off, and have given eq and cash away to newbies many times. ( including the autumnal pops ). I certainly didnt use a moldy scroll on you, or anyone else for that matter. If you need to talk to me ingame, some of the characters I play include Karna, Tripper and Zanax.

PS: Send the 5mm to Tripper. He could use it after buying a cinq. last night.

You openly say this, then start your next run with cleric first? Look man, you checked all the pops then killed cleric because it loaded. Do not talk to me like im an idiot. You didnt kill kender, harpy and miki, you went straight for the cleric. I honestly dont care about the eq. I was letting my girlfriend lead me around and was going to let her deal with it. I already talked to both of you about this. You called him a thief, he called you a dumbass. Next time maybe we will be a little less hot headed and provoke the other guy, but as for now its over -- let it go.

I want to take this opportunity to clarify something, because I saw in your gossip about pkilling people that you think are stealing your pops -- this is not a pkilling mud. We, the admin, enforce the rules, not you the mortal. You can web, recall, etc, if you have a personal quarrel. Pkilling is only acceptable under the most dire of consequences, kind of like self-defense in rl. You had better make sure its gonna hold up to an immortal asking you about it, and this one certainly isnt going to hold up.

In rl, if you beat someone down for talking smack to you, you go to jail. Here, I dont care how big you are, you will get punished the same way. This would come in the form of level reductions, passworded for a while or a wipe.

I don't think the argument is quite what you think it is here. Killing the cleric first is very common for safety since it will attack sleepers and dispel anyone it sees in battle. Its not a hard mob, gloves aren't that sought after, but the cleric will almost always die first because the mob itself is a pain in the ass if you leave him alive. I do it myself unless I'm killing the mobs near Miki only. Its just not safe to leave him alive.

I understand the argument about the cleric, however I was killing the area for many many cycles, and the cleric was never the first mob to die. Not by us and not by him.

Well, for stealing a real pop you could do the things Krom mentioned. Web, recall, silence - anything short of actually causing the other person's death.

Perhaps more effective though would be to let other players know about the actions. Other players here might make it a point to be mean to that person as well. At some point, that player would probably wipe the char and start over, if that reputation persists. It's just the golden rule, repeated for our little environment.

He was killing the mob some, you were killing the mob some, area empty, he is killing the mob. You say oh we were killing him, and really needed the gaunts, im sure he gives you the gaunts. People will be reasonable if you are reasonable to them, for the most part.


We like to foster a friendly playing environment. Friendly means you talk to the person first, not immediately threaten them. I dont want to babysit anyone, just get along and have fun, thats what its all about.


PS True story, I was running autumnal a while back myself, and left the area because I needed to afk for a min. Normally, I set a spirit watcher, but this time for some reason I didnt, no one was around or running the area besides me. I run back and see my mob, the maimed elf, actually poped (and this was after like 20 tries), but someone had ran in there and was killing him. I talked to him, and even though I know I left myself in a bad position by leaving the area and no spirit watcher (especially autumnal!) he was nice enough to let me finish the kill and get the mace. See it can all work out...
