I'm curious if charisma affects anything other than the damage of your cries
and whether mobs fail saves.

I thought it was used to affect more folks with the Bros/Gods/Dreams spells as well.

Nope it doesn't Kieth. I use to thought the more Charisma the more ppl
will get effected. However its not the case. The only thing that does
matter from what I can tell is the instrument u use. If it has 1-4 at the end
thats the additional number of ppl. A Prime Bard has a natural of 11 they
can sing too. I use a nice +2, so my max is 13 either in per AC or in per
charisma.

charisma?

Postby Avatar » Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:12 am

As I understood it, charisma doesn't even directly affect damage. Charisma affects saves, which means the target is less likely to make their save vs. the effect of a song. So, with high charisma cries are more likely to cause the full average damage of the song, rather than the saved half damage of the song.

[quote="*kjartan*":2uynylwg]But, it's not like bards are no good in groups now... all groups want bards. We are more interested in stuff for warriors and thieves atm. But I will keep in it mind for the next time I'm looking for bard ideas.

Things get implemented because (1) we need to help some class or (2) something strikes my fancy as a cool thing, e.g. the recent tarantula and banshee changes.

I like the mount ideas for warriors that were posted in some other thread. But, that may not happen real soon, it would be a big coding effort and we have several other coding projects going on right now.

ok.. so why the apparently increased stab lag very recently - that's hurting thieves and others like warriors who also use stab a lot. I don't get it.
