EQ suggestions

Postby *juggleblood* » Fri Dec 01, 2006 7:13 am

I quit for a week and I don't like it. I guess I'm guilty of being a big premadonna.

Anyway, theres a new area that will hopefully go in soon and I'm looking for player suggestions on EQ.

Basically it needs to be nothing more powerful than in game eq. Maybe more lenient restrictions or a new combination of special bonuses. Or possibly just a duplicate of an existing item that doesn't currently pop on SS. Feel free to post your suggestions here on the open forum.

I can't say more and I won't tell you if your suggestion was used. I also can't say when the opening quest is, because it's not really up to me.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Rub,

I would ask what kinda area, so the eq matches the area more. How big
the area is and also the largest mob. The bigger the mob the better the
eq suggestion can be :)

But like always maybe add something like mr, hr, ac, or even dam eq.

However its hard to give eq idea if we don't know if its a mage or cleric type.
Then we can say add eq with +mana ect ....

Clasps of any sort always go down well.. although maybe in a location other than the usual neck, head or held high/low slots where there seems to be a relative abundance of clasps...

I'm not saying what kinda area it is, but I can always modify the item description to fit.

As for how big, I said the item could be as powerful as any in-game eq.

Feel free to make suggestions for any kind of eq. There are numerous mobs of different varieties.

The one thing I think is lacking from the game is good ac legwear.

For -1.7 legs (and I'm discounting temp eq, weekly eq and dr eq) this leaves us with:

Carborundum Greaves Forged None -1.7 +1 SysShock, Water Breath AdAv Forged

Greaves of the Forsaken Sin Murkwood -1.7 SWa Prime 2x40
Greaves of War War Avatar Balrog's Temple -1.7 ST SW [AND]
Titanium Greaves Medusa Crypt -1.7 SBa 2x40

which means the only way to get 1.7 legs before Av is to be either:

wa prime or wa /th or ba +2x40

They all need groups to get them, fair enough, but groups hate hitting Sin (rare pop in a nogate area with an assister and no other mobs worth hitting) which effectivly cuts it down further.

Sorry Ive rambled on ... but I think some more -1.7 leg wear would be good, perhaps make it something that could be upgraded to some of the existing things maybe -1.7 ac -1 str or -1 con but lower restricts.

Anyhow thats my thoughts

So far, the +3 hand dam prime monk gloves pop on only one mob, AFAIK.
An alternative would be nice.

EQ sugg.

Postby Jag » Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:25 pm

May I suggest a piece of eq for warriors with new classo's?

There is lots for war with cl or th or mage and a lot less for other combo's.

Skipping quest, temp or drachma, other warriors have no -0.8 neck item.

Worn Bloody Coif -0.8, +1 str, MW prime.

Coif is also used to refer to mail that covers the neck area and under a helmet.

also, duping one of the best forged guards into poppable eq = horrible idea

Not for war

Postby Jag » Fri Dec 01, 2006 5:01 pm

My suggestion was for a warrior neck eq. for warriars that have new classo.

Maul Titan Guards are for thieves, once again making the point there is no regular eq to prove -.8 neck for new classo warriars.

A little googling reveals that the part of a coif that covers the neck, if found separately from the head part, is called an aventail or camail. Similar armor made of plate rather than chain is a gorget. Before the invention of gorgets and aventails, torcs were worn for neck protection, but it's not clear whether they did any good.
