All right, seriously. You guys are taking this a bit far. I apologized to you, Shoop, and I never -once- said that it was an accident. It was a joke I took too far, and I'm sorry for that. I don't know what you folks expect me to do, but I can't exactly spawn hex tokens and hand them out.

I was not attempting to be an asshole; a jackass, yes, and that was my fault. But banning me from EXP groups when I've said time and again that I was -done- with it, and I am, seems a bit rediculous. Yes, I understand that any group leader has the right to decide who can and cannot join their groups; but, I respectfully request that you judge me by my actions from here on out, now that I am -aware- that it will no longer be accepted as something funny.

I like Sloth a lot, and I would hate to see the experience ruined because my dumbass joke went too far. I will show the utmost humility in the situation, and assure you all that there -will be no more- Darwin awards.

Respectfully,

-Kotetzo

Heh, the thing that you have to understand is that there really is no end to Darwin awards, hell last week I was running krimeah with some very serious folks in my group, after telling everyone not to web the mob so that we could fear Krimeah out of the room, the VERY first thing I did was web Krimeah. There was a bad 5 minutes following that dumb action, for which I think I appologized to everyone for the inconvenience. The point is mistakes happen enough when you don't plan on making them, making them on purpose is just counterproductive. I don't even want to tell you how long it took me and Corwin to kill the ticket vendor on the island when I screwed up and attacked her, a safe room vendor mob takes a loooong time to kill fyi. So in the future please just reign it in before it helps create another fiasco.
Thanks!

so you act like an ignorant teenager, apologize, and then expect that your actions won't have consequences?
that says alot.

I think there have been consequences enough, but that might just be me. I have been warned the players on Sloth can be highly vindictive, and I understand that. It's just my sincere wish that I would get a chance to show that I can be useful, rather than just, as you said, an ignorant teenager.

my advice to you:

start a new char, never act so foolish again and never tell anyone who you are.

that or start learning how to lead and build some trust that way.

doing stupid things, admitting that it was on purpose, then apologizing and expecting everything is ok does not tend to work out. then again, neither does starting a new char b/c inevitably, you will show your colors in the end. but if you are sincere, that may be the way to go.

Are you serious? o_o I've been playing this character for...two months? I realize there are characters that have been on Sloth for years, but, I've put work into this character. I just got decent rolls, for Christ's sake. The only way for me to get back into these groups would be to nuke all of that and start from scratch, potentially having to talk like a dumbass and generally not being myself?

you could always learn to solo. I've gotten chars from lvl 1 to 20 av without grouping at all. Takes a bit longer, but completely doable.

I'm more than willing to do that, but I don't know how. You have to remember that I know nearly nothing about this game. I've just now learned the basics of speedrunning, etc. Learning whole new areas, which monsters I can and cannot kill..I haven't gotten that far yet. I've died four times today on monsters that I can normally kill easily, just because I haven't gotten a feel for MUD battling systems yet.

2 months isnt that much time.

so far, you've proven that you're an a-hole for almost cf'ing a group on purpose (and that's the difference here) and you think that apologizing makes everything right. my 4-yr old thinks that too. he always apologizes when he gets caught.

I've deleted or just stopped playing chars with more time into them than you have and probably better stats too.

you interpret me telling you to start over and not repeat your mistakes as meaning that you have to 'talk like a dumbass and generally not be' yourself. so, are you the jackass or not? from what you're saying, if you cant be yourself and get along here then you are. if not, move on, learn from it and yeah, start over.

in the end, joke's on you. support from other players can be one of the most important parts of this game and you've managed to irritate some of the better players who have been around for a long time.

If you've ever talked with Kotetzo, he's got a _very_ distinctive writing style. He would pretty much have to stop talking for people to not figure out who he is.

Either way, I think he's pretty much just figured out what the rest of us are very familiar with. Making a good character and getting it equipped takes a while. Clustering a group takes seconds. Getting your equipment back from a fully equipped, pissed off Demogorgon takes a while... and if you have to be to work in 15 minutes, life can get very stressful indeed. No one wants to give up a character that they spent a couple years on because someone thought it would be funny...

Either way, its not the first time someone managed to piss off the mud, and it won't be the last. You're not going to convince anyone by saying you're sorry though. Keep your head down, help out where you can, and take the opportunity to learn a thing or two. There's no quick fix, so don't make the mistake of thinking it will be that easy.

Sloth is a community, being respectful of others is always a great start.

I'm saying this as a player, not as an immortal intervening. Make that very well understood.

As a leader, my suggestion to you Kot is to do as 12345 says. Keep your head down, be humble, and dont start anymore trouble, and help put when you can. This is a "show me" MUD. To correct your error you can start by joining 2-3man groups that will have you, show them you have learned from your mistake, and maybe these 2-3 people might hold some weight/respect from others and attest to your rehabilitation.

If they do take you back in and you continue any erroronous ways, I can promise you, this thread will seem like a bee sting compared to the wraith these guys and gals can inflict.
I'm not forsaken, but I am the only one.

I have no intention of ever relapsing. I give you my honor on that. I had no idea that the bullshit would get me into this little pickle.

Don't sweat it, mate. There's some of us who've had nothing to do with you. You never pissed me off, and I'll happily group with you until you do. While sloth is just a game, people do invest themselves a lot in it - most of us have an experience of cycling literally months for a key piece of eq, then had it pthieved, or lost it or accidently junked it. We can say it's just a game, but ya still get really, really cranky! As is being said, just build other relationships, and you'll work your way back in.
Most of the old timers have been stretched a long way by us noobs, and have shown remarkable patience and generosity. As part of the more recent guard, we'll lend you the same generosity, especially as you exhibit that you understand the results of your actions.

On another note, it's rare that your first character is a keeper, as you learn more about it you may want to start one that gets the classo clloser to how you want to play. And the original character is useful to store on valk, or on another continent if you need something from it.
The man was either mad or both.
