Would like to thank Blaster (and any other imms who might have been involved behind the scenes) for opening Lyme to everyone today, made for a great chop group. And the restrings for Atwell and myself rocked too :)

And thanks Rynq, for his patience and Atwell for his many, many heads. It was a lot of fun, Blaster. Thanks for mixing it up.

Any chance this could become a semi-regular event (like say, one day a month the ship allows newbies...err those less than 3x40 on but they cant rent there or something).

It's not a big deal to me, 3 of the 5 chars I've decided to keep are already on Lyme and I dont know that I want the othre two there any time soon but I remember the one time I got to participate in one of these groups and it was pretty cool.

Yeah, was a lot of fun. Lots of exp, too... for a newbie anyway. :P I think I went from level 27-34 or something around that.

not to be a dampener or anything, coz it was pretty fun :), but please please do not let this be a regular event. It's easy enuff to level on sloth as it is, we don't need more newbies sponging their way to lyme and not knowing where the LIMBO is

Been a long time since I did one of these and figured I would be nice and do something for the players since I won't bother with quests now days. But I guess I can make it a long time again before I bother with another one since I have also recieved emails bitching about it from players. Try to be nice and do something, and well you know, go figure, no big deal to me. Enjoy!!!!

There isn't really any need to go complaining about something like this anyway, everyone was clearly told to stay with the group, so it's not like there was newbs running all over lyme and interfering with people's normal runs.

The group didn't run long enough to create any kind of imbalance because of power levelling, not like it turned all the valk chars on at the time into 3x40s.

Quite frankly I don't see a single reason to complain about this happening once (although I understand that doing it frequently would cause problems) except, as Blaster put it, bitching.

Edit: Not aiming any of that rant at Gimlet's post btw, directed at the people who complained via email.

errr

I really wasn't bitching about the group, it was fun, and real nice of the imm's part....

I was just saying no no no to rr's post of having it as a monthly occurance...i think it defeats the purpose of it :P

Who the hell whined about it?

The entire group stayed together the whole time. We weren't even allowed to pick up or keep any items. Renting was diabled, and Blaster kept us in line the entire time. We didn't interrupt anyone because practically the entire MUD was in the group.

Sure us lowbies got some nice exp (I think I got about 70 million in the full 2 1/2 hours), but because of the level gap it was pretty much the same that I got when partied in the huge nocap exp groups off Lyme. Not sure if you guys know or not but you get a huge penalty when killing monsters that are insanely higher than you. It doesn't matter what continent you're on: if you're a low level player in a big group that is killing huge monsters, you're going to get squat exp compared to an avatar character.

I've been playing pretty heavily for the past 3 weeks or so, and the Lyme group was some of the most fun I've had. Pretty exciting getting massacred by monsters 200 levels higher than you in one round after you accidently behead the tank.

I wish I had been able to join - I was online at the time but wasn't able to dedicate uninterrupted time for grouping unfortunately - in my books going AFK in a group is not a good thing.

Thanks anyway Blaster - I remember joining one of these groups years ago as a noob and it was a lot of fun and a real eye-opener, as well as an incentive to reach 3x40 - that was back when concise didn't exist so the scroll was superfast and left me with my head spinning at how advanced Lyme-level players must've been to run like that on a regular basis.

As far as whining about it via email to Blaster - I don't get it.. what's to whine about? Pissed that you missed out or something? Pretty pathetic.
