The description/defintion I wrote here is clearly consistent with the first paragraph of the rule description quoted from the mud. I am not particularly happy with the third paragraph onward of the rule description as it seems to imply a vary narrow focus. I will work to get it more in line with botting as a soloer as well as a group member.

I agree in general that more should be done about botting in groups. But, it needs to start with the players. It is extremely time consuming to find bots in actively run groups as an admin and we make the assumption that players can and should reject them. It is relatively trivial to notice bots when you are in a group for a few runs.

If someone is botting in a group you are in (not just "your group" as the leader), deal with them. They are stealing your fair share of exp and gold. Recall them for starters and tell them to knock it off. If someone has scripts good enough to stay with a group when they are unwanted, then let the immortals know about it. I assure you I will deal with it when I have time, and other admins will too.

As a final note, I won't comment in public forums about the specifics of this case as is typical for me.

The 5 levels and complete set of eq that I lost can be replaced easy enough.. However.. i must re-affirm my earlier statement.. botting will in its strictest terms I would be indeed found guilty however to rebute Splork's statement.. I think more than a handful of players could also under strictest terms be considered "botting".. ..

Proof you say... anytime anyone got up to take a piss,grab a smoke,fix a drink,change the baby's diaper/fix bottle etc etc are technically 'botting' however.. being as they are at keyboard before..mostly during.. and immediately after a fight should be excluded... I could understand someone going afk 10 or more minutes, when group wasn't in regen mode, botting but any less should be exempt.. as I stated before.. I got up long enough to shoo kids out of house and onto bus.. had Clink waitied and checked a few fights to see if I was afk or not OR most importantly raised me after dying to see if I was there or not would have solved this from the get go.

I propose an apology from Clink for jumping to conclusions. In return, I will be sure to under no circumstances whatsoever ever get up from my keyboard during a fight.. if I need to.. I'll recall and come back to fight when I am done running errand.. Like i said earlier.. the 5 levels is not a problem and the equipment while not the irreplaceable will give me something to do.

I think you got the bottom line: go afk all you want. Dont do it while fighting or doing something active.

I also personally feel it is extremely poor etiquette, if nothing else, to step away from the keyboard while a group is running. Stuff like afk 10 minutes, but dont recall and just sit there and suck exp is normally handled by the leader, but my suggestion is you recall, sleep, and when you are back rejoin the group. Cause if clink doesnt get ya, maybe someone else will...

Exp and gold are supposed to be earned, thats the whole point, right?

Hades, did you notice the title of this thread? To propose that anyone apologize to you is rather ridiculous.

Most of us have known Clink for a long time. We support Clink because he's been fair with us over a span of years. Besides that, who we support doesn't matter. There is no jury by your peers. The admin enforce the rules. If you have a complaint, you should address it to Clink himself or the other admin.
