Sacrificing corpse

Was going to post it to newbie group but realize that even some 3x40 are doing it. Anyway here goes.

With the new sytle of game play, players are increasingly dependent on corpses to create juju, animates, supps, infusion, etc. Therefore, PLEASE do not happily go into a room full of corpses and start saccing them unless you KNOW for sure it does not belong to anyone or the person who created it does not want them anymore.

I know I should keep those corpses in a safe place but I can't carry all of them even with 18/100 str, I wonder how those necro does it. So pls be a bit considerate, ask first and don't run into a room with 10+ embalmed corpses and start saccing them. Especially when those are 41 corpse.

People also need to get rid of their auto-sac scripts and just use an alias. I hate it when I just kill a mob whose corpse I need, and just then someone walks through the room and poof it's gone.

Today I built up a nice collection of 20 or so embalmed corpses and left them in a nice out of the way place in the warriors guild on BH.

Went off to chase my pop and come back they've all gone.

I won't name the person who did it, I think it was a genuine mistake, but when I asked about it on gossip (simple request not spam and not an angry diatribe) I got accused of being stupid, told I should have left a sign on them, and got rude and obscene language from Mosaix (yes its still obscene even if you work in acronyms).
Also a lot of what I can only assume was Russian abuse ... no idea what it said, don't really care.

Is this really what we're all about ... take whatever you want and abuse/flame anyone who gets hard done by?

If thats the case this isn't the mud I thought it was.

Leaving corpses in the warrior guild is fair game to anyone, and frankly is a pretty poor place to leave them if you actually want them. People need corpses for sac tables, supplication, whatever.

You then chose to call it a form of stealing at which point inbetween several rants from multiple players, you have singled me out for "stfu elsie"

Elsie please do make some sense before you open your mouth.

no I think you misunderstand ... I thought my language, tone, questions and objection to Mosiax were reasonable ...

... I fully accept that the warriors guild is not the best place to leave corpses ... we live and learn ... just because I wouldn't sac any corpse I hadn't killed dosen't mean everyone else would understand why this isn't necessarily the best thing to do.

Also not all players have the luxury of a vault ...

Elsie stfu isnt as bad as you think. Some of us pride ourselves on being told this daily *poke Autolycos*. I think the discussion turned sour after you said its like stealing. OK lets get this right. I drop an item on the ground then leave. Somone comes along and picks it up. Now they are stealing? This is truly an ignorant thing to say and thats why they said these words to you. Nobody hates you or wants you to die, just shut up about the corpses .

DoW has vault rooms where we store corpses and in the past I have placed them in spots to keep, but obviously not in high traffic town rooms.

No, not everyone has a vault... however, you can count the number of times someone passes over the inn a month on one hand. Someone finding a corpse there (other than a sparrow) would know almost immediately that they were being collected by someone.

STFU might have been offensive until Autolycos adopted it as a universal term meaning any of the following:

I initially agreed with Elsie that "stfu" is a pretty rude term, and feels like an insult. The way it's used around this group though doesn't usually include the harsh edges of the term. I guess like many situations the word - acronym - is used in a context. In this situation, I believe they were not trying to insult Elsie, they were just trying to get her to stop talking.

Still, if people continue to use the STFU we should remember that it includes a curse word. People may get offended if they feel that you're cursing at them.

We should find a more polite way of communicating the: "please, you sound silly. stop talking before you make everyone here think you're a newbie. the mud doesn't work the way you expect. we're not going to change our behaviour just because we don't play the way you want us to. besides, your request is silly and illogical. figure out how to interact with other people before you try to change their behavior."

That's almost guaranteed to annoy people here because the tone is accusing people of stealing. Elsie implies ownership of something that everyone here would regard as free items. That's a very insulting way to start a conversation, and she shouldn't be surprised if people get offended.

Here Elsie still doesn't realize that she insulted anyone, and doesn't understand why people don't agree with her. Let me point out to Elsie that you're starting with an action that everyone here thinks is acceptable (using corpses in public areas however we want). You later associate this activity with stealing, which in essence is accusing everyone who has done this in the past of being a thief.
