Monk Changes

You missed these:

Pair of Heavy Gloves None None -0.2 +2 Hand Damage NMo

These at 2 make brass knuckles worthless.

Please consider bumping the items you nerfed back up to 3.

damn, I'm starting to sound like a necro (except I'll stop here unless something is specifcally addressed to me)

As usual Splork doesn't think things through before he changes things. 5 hand dam to 2 hand dam nerf is just plain STUPID. He is trying to RUIN the monk class just as he is trying to with Necromancer. He's made monks very unenjoyable to play now. Lol, and he thinks he is making the game better.

With the exception of the Gauntlets of Thunder, there's very few who have any of the +5 items. I think Nab is one of the few that might have the quest ones, so he might be upset.

Also, I think the Elegant Leather Gloves are +3 handdam.

Since you're calling this a stupid nerf, how about providing an actual reason it's stupid? How are they unenjoyable to play now? How are you doing anything besides trolling?

Cause I had Aura of Pride and Gaunlets of Thunder? Cause I was going to Shield of the South Ice in a few weeks? No, I am not *TROLLING*, I am quitting the game because idiots like Splork ruin it. I was already at 22 hand dam and would of been 29 hand dam in 2 weeks. Now I won't have enough hand dam to even kill a pronghorn or nymph follower with a grip. (Note: I am not calling it splork, cause he doesn't deserve the credit).

He was quite rude to me today also, just like he is to everyone all the time.

blah, those items were overpowered. some of them still are.
monks should just be happy they have more dmg slots open than
thiefs, what a crock!! lets see some +dmg shields!

Thieves have much larger dmg multipliers than monks. So don't ya think it makes sense?

For some reason, I find this VERY hard to believe. I am gonna go with a mud or mmorpg that is stable. Where I can develop a character, without having the rug pulled out from underneath me. I think it there was rather not balanced decision.
Even little bit not clear - to enter into game in addition Aura of Pride and subsequently to cut off all handdam item?
And to make it for all monks, without the analysis. hmm.

Your response to this is purely emotional and I am replying to this for anyone who may have missed this point. This was a group admin decision to correct a mistake we made by allowing +5 hand damage items in the first place. Splork may have speerheaded the effort, but we all back him up.

As I told Melanthe in tells: Our goal is to make the game fun and challenging at the same time. We strive for these changes to be positive (allowing for mistakes to be made along the way). We are sorry we made this mistake. We will make more mistakes in the future, but will try to correct them. The only constant with this game is change as long as we are around.

Now if I could only find a mud where the mortals don't insult you and call you names in public, that would surely be unique...

There was a brief time when my deathtouch did more damage than a firewind. It was kind of nice to have a useful offensive skill -- even though it had a large miss chance and lagged twice as much as casting a spell.

I do have to agree with the immorts on this one; the aura of pride was rather silly. It's *still* better than a 5x40 light. I'm currently working on getting rid of all my handdam gear and popping myself a weapon. Maybe I'll see if damage reduction is any good... there must be still be some good things about being a monk.

Have played a Monk, I think the Gaults of Thunder should be +3 hand. U
r using a +3 dam gloves and plus a bunch of other comps to have it proc.
Why make it do less damage?

Also if the "free" gloves as a newbie is set to +2 hand, why change higher
eq to only +2 for hands? Also doesn't make sense. Like what 12345 said,
the other +3 hand would be off the cleric in A.Forest.

Also thiefs has a higher dam stab, and also 1 round less lag.
With these changes, you should at least make monk have the same lag time
as a thief now.
