Where Are They Now? (Older Players of Sloth II)

Got a little nostalgic today so I stumbled across this Sloth site.

To begin with, I used to play Sloth II religiously from about 1993-1995, when I was in college at FIU.

My primary characters were DesertFox and Vain. My girlfriend at the time had a couple of characters named Baby and Sexy (who was a notorious p-thief at the time).

My best friend played Arakis who immorted and helped develop an area at one point.

I became friends with Moxy (another immortal) and Rollins and ultimately went on a few spring breaks with them up in Myrtle Beach, SC for a few years.

I guess I am posting just out of curiousity to see if any of the 'older' players are still around. (Oh, and hello JAKE! Good to see you still run this thing, even after 15 or so years).

Some names that come to mind: Wulfgar, Anger, FatherMace, Sadda, Giengen, Tamara, HectorDark....

If any older players are still around, please reply!

I started playing around 1995 or so, my friend Brian (Piglet) introduced me to the game. My first character was "Shabazz"

When Sloth III came around, I created Pisces. Played her off and on for a few years. At one point pisces was 107 years old!! Thats when i gave up for a while, plus i did a lot of moving and travelling. I played with people such as Regis and Canby (I always got a kick out of that), but Gelding (Jason) was my bestest, favoritest, fellow slother. He's damn hot too! ...sigh...

Anyway, a few months ago when the only thing to do in Maine in the winter is drink, I thought I'd log on just to see what's happening....lo and behold...Pisces was only 23 years old!!! And there are 4 more classes!!! I was officially "into it" again.

Temple of the Masked God
A flicker of steel glitters from the east, as a smalll black stiletto can be seen hanging on a nearby wall. A small sharpening stone rests on a shelf, directly adjacent to the blade. To the west, a strange shadow can be seen lurking in and out of view, as the only apparent exit is towards that same direction.
Exits: West
Vain, the master shadow assassin, stands defiantly in the center of the room.


I actually created an area called DoT(Den of Thieves) which is loosely based on your sloth II clan. Many of the old clan names are included within it.

Well shit. Canby, I hand't thought of him in a long time. I knew I recognized the name Pisces the other day, and asked Medios if it was she from s2 he said didn't know. Anyway, I was in DoT with Jay (Jedha) and George (Flight/Scorn) and Mike Fry (Apolicus) and a couple other folks. I remember
being incredibly stoked that we actually had our own hall, this was pre-housing, so it was a big deal wo have the black key I guess I would have been playin' Cubby or Nothing at the time. Cheers Dfox!

Strider and Dawnfire and Fmace and Isiel and Balrog still play as far as
I know, although not usually on those names.

Awesome response guys. I remember all of ya - amazing to still see familiar faces after 12 or so years. Canby was a trip, and I remember Shabazz was a lot of fun too. Heck I even turned up old Clan mates!

And thanks for reminding me of some of the other names....

The DoT (Den of Thieves) was a lot of fun ....did I read you correctly in saying that there is an area in Sloth III with a statue of Vain? Man that is so awesome and I'm so glad I posted.

Also, Flight/Scorn is also the Arakis character I mentioned, I forgot that Arakis never really got played and only now remember that his primes were actually Flight/Scorn. In case anyone is curious, he and I are still best friends here in Miami. He is actually engaged and getting married in August in Jamaica, and then moving up to Tampa with his new wife. I talked to him last night about posting on here so maybe he'll pop in and say hi.

He singlehandedly blames Sloth for nearly ruining his college career and costing him an accounting degree. I bet the same was true for many of us - I was hooked big time.

As for my ex girlfriend who played Baby/Sexy, she and I broke up sometime in the later days of my Sloth time. I lost track of her for many years but she recently found me. She is married and living in GA with 2 kids. I may tell her to drop by and post just for the hell of it.

These days I play a little bit of MMORPG (was playing City of Heroes for a while but got burned out), and also a lot of poker (online and in real life). But I really have to log back into Sloth and just see what it's like these days. I'm sure I'll be totally lost.


As much fun as I had playing prime chars, the p-thieving was a blast too. I really think that 'Sexy' may have been a more 'legendary' character than Vain or DesertFox. My GF and I took turns playing her.

I suppose I should ask *cough cough* if anyone else still pthieves, and if so, have they risen to the level of the infamous Sexy? I know Jake always got a kick out of her antics and she had quite a few friends who assisted with her nefarious activities *evil grin*

Any more oldies willing to come out and say hi?

Actually... Vain is a mob... a very big nasty and grouchy one.

One of my fav areas. Damn cool thiefy Kris forge there too.

all very familiar names....I met George(scorn) in miami as im from there, living in orlando now...if he plans to move to tampa he should give a shout...I remember alfajor, tesa and slip(thems muh girlz), they arent around...Krom plays several different chars now...I remember the DoT, I ran across the chaos clan on s2 and it was in shambles...I revamped it and made in my own in s3...I remember lace, and redcross, riven, diablo, zera...and zarf...I had almost made it tri40 when s2 went down...Gelding(jason) I see about once a year or so....I know alana, met Jake here in orlando a few years back...I remember ricks char pegasus, Kel had a few chars I dont remember off hand, dont remember you specifically, but then theres a few names I've probably lost along the way...I started s2 in sept. 96, was introduced by Drew in miami(known as alexus now)...dont have as much time as I used to, but I'm....around...

Not that you would remember me, but I played lora on sloth II from like 92-95. I also played mrs and di and midnite a little but mostly I played lora a cleric. I used to hang out with tigger a lot who dated my then roomate in college for a while adrienne is who she played. But if you read this and remember me for any reason I am now playing shyla on sloth III
