Builder's port

Postby *Splork* » Thu Mar 23, 2006 12:15 am

Ok, Ive been speaking with Jake and we will try to get a builders port up, hopefully rather soon.

This port will be for regular Imms to test mudl scripts, as well as those of you who wish to learn mudl, our OLC, build areas, mobs, quests, autoquests, and not get too knee deep into Immortalship. With this port, you will be able to build there, and play on the regular port at the same time. Example, When Rub would normally regen for five minutes, hecan now script an entirequest to hand in or be copied over to our regular port. This port may also be used for players who apply to Immort but we feel they need a little more experience and guidance before we move them up.

Thoughts?

Please either mudmail or email me at splork@slothmud.org if you are interested in creating for SlothMUD on our builders port.

I'd like you to include what you plan to build(whether it be autoquests, mudl proc, areas, etc). I will need a rundown of your theme, rewards, etc as well.

We are only going to allow a few people to do this while we are in the testing stages of this idea, so if you are interested-do not wait to apply...

Enjoy,
Splork

The port is up and running. Simply doing a few finishing touches. On a side note, those of you who take us up on this offer should try to keep as much about what you are doing on the port to yourself. We are not interested in players building autoquests to simply give out the answers to their friends and bloat drachma, rewards, etc. Building will be fun. But the best part is watching your friends(and enemies) explore your area or quest, solving it, dying, etc...

I'd be keen but timing isn't good for me atm - too much study to do (which is why I'm afk so much) but good to see this opportunity out there.

Just think, if you had written 1 room in a new for every 10 posts on the crier you'd almost have a 100 room area!

Speaking of that. I'll get back to what I was working on...

The builder's port is open for business and I would like to congratulate Rub for being the first player accepted.

The port has been stripped of most mobs, areas, objects, etc, except for a few around BH

We will be keeping an eye on this port and what is going on there. Hopefully this will be a great way to relieve some stress that our current staff has and provide an outlet for our players to contribute. Like I said previously, we are only are going to allow a few people to do this at first and see how it turns out. I've created five zones that can be used-and four are open since Rub has rights to the first one....

Enjoy,
