You know it's piss poor for whatever reason you like to swing your weight around because I ask a question about something that I'm not familiar with.
You could very well ban me from playing/logging in but I never stated anything about quitting to play another MUD. You take offense when I ask about a change and expect for me to go along and not question. Well that's just plain bullshit. You stated sometime back that necro's wouldnt be touched
again for awhile and at that I took your word. Yet, when I ask about something relating to necro classo you get bent out of shape. I'm sure your'e right that necro's were/are overpowered and that I'm not the best mudder by far but suggesting I find another MUD when I have not even went down that road is just immature. I admit we've poked at each other from time to time but I've been a supporter as well as a fan. No more, I'd rather just play and not deal with you. I enjoy my free time in RL relaxing here and chatting with friends and am not interested in looking elsewhere. You want me to be a sheep and I refuse to be. #gag Splork works for me, hopefully #gag Victor works for you.
Good Day :!:

I'm starting to take offense to the constant 'ribbing' and quite frankly I am growing tired of it. Its safe to say that I am no longer going to deal with it. Nor will I gag anyone. If you want to continue your snide remarks, I'll continue to tell you to screw off and find another mud.

If you can have fun and enjoy the game without continually, and intentionally trying to irk me, I don't see us having a problem...

Enjoy,
Splork

Conflict

Postby Avatar » Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:29 am

Conflict is eternal, it's not enough to fight these battles once. Twice. 322 times. Players here are going to question every little change and decision made. It's one of the strengths of Sloth, surely, that the players are so interested in being involved and knowledgable about the logic and mechanics of the game.

As a side note, I've just recently re-read the Swords trilogy and the Chronicles of Corum trilogy. Interesting books.

I've tried to implement those swords on at least 3 games. I even went so far as to make a Coinspinner that had a higher hit and damage roll for clerics and mages than for warrior types and had a chance of transferring itself to any other players/mobs in the near area when a player slept.

Farslayer was basically an immortal only sword. It's just too much like cheating. Shieldbreaker did average damage, but basically made it impossible to be hit by swords and spells... barehanded mobs could rip you up though so it actually worked out to be one of the weaker swords.

It might be fun to take another crack at it with MUDL. It would be fun to watch the healo assist the mob so they could heal the tank.

Swords

Postby Avatar » Fri Jan 13, 2006 2:37 pm

That was actually a different series. Moorcock's swords trilogy was about a character named Corum, who's race was destroyed by the human race. Despite that, he falls in love with a human woman and destroys a few gods. The swords in those books refer to the lords of chaos, who are the Knight of Swords, the Queen of Swords, and the King of Swords. Corum is a champion for Law, and ends up being very significant in overthrowing Chaos and returning some amount of balance to his planes of existence.

I did read, a long time ago, the Saberhagen Swords books with those 12 swords. I've been meaning to read those again also for the last couple of years, but have not made the time yet.

I have been reading Moorcocks works now for close to 20 yrs...they are excellent! In fact, our clan members are required to familiarize themselves with at least one of his writings...I remember one of my earlier favorites "Wierd of the White Wolf" pertaining to Elric of Melnibone and my favorite sword Stormbringer(who has a sister sword "Mournblade')...

I always liked Moonglum myself. He had nothing magical on his side at all and still manages to be the next to last man standing. That's talent.

The homocidal maniac and with the fratricidal soul drinking swords? He was pretty cool too... but overpowered. He should have been nerfed.
