I've often found that whenever someone says something like:

"I dont mean to be rude but ... " its followed by a rude statement e.g. "I dont mean to be rude but you stink"

This works generally exchanging the word rude for other words:
e.g.
"I dont mean to be boastful but I soloed 100mill in the last 40 minutes"
"I dont mean to rush you but I you need to give me that Rhodochrosite now"
"I dont mean to be greedy but all the coins from this group are mine"
"I dont mean to be ....

I'm sure you get the picture ...

@jezer: Odd that you've taken this as an attack on you, it was much more related to my previous post on the subject over a week before your questionable comments in group yesterday. http://www.slothmud.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3515
Interstingly enough although the subject of the post is relevant to what you said its also equally relevant to 2 others players who in the last week have seen it as ok to say something derogatory as long as its preceeded by an "I dont mean to be ... " statement ... more interesting neither of them saw the need to post partial logs on the crier.
If you so easily perceive this as relating to your behaviour perhaps you may be being prickled by your conscience?

Intermixed with the mostly outstanding behaviour of almost all players of sloth there have been a number of recent examples that fall below the standards I would like to hope we can achieve both in terms of considerate play and etiquette. I'm convincved a code of conduct wont solve all these issues like a magic bullet but I believe it would be a good step forward.

Amusing. So if someone disagrees with someone it's because the other person was actually right. It can't just be that the person just thought, hey! that person is completely wrong! That's the trouble with conceited smug and arrogant people like yourself, everything points to their argument being right. How slimy and convenient your suggesting your post was actually based at others.

So your campaigning to make the world a better place by eradicating racism, by berating those who you perceive to be racist. Let me guess... you didn't mean to be rude but... 'look mate just shut up with your racist shit, you could give similar examples about any group.'

What do you do in your spare time? Kill abortion doctors under the pro life banner? Get a grip.

In your case Thraxas, given the amount of other players you've targeted in similar instances, this is not an isolated incident and I'm not the only one that gets caught off hand by the wild accusations, and I'd encourage the other players on the receiving end of your hypocritical moral crusades to just ignore you.
