Quest Times

Postby Toxis » Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:44 pm

People always are upset that quest times are in evenings. Next monday I'll have off and would like to know what time in morning is best for the majority of you people who live on the other side of the world? I was thinking around 9am central.

here's a dumb idea: why not run the quest twice - once for each group of people - the day gamers and the night gamers? record who was in the first quest and exclude that character (use of alts permitted, of course) from the second one? maybe make just enough changes to the second quest so that the spoilers cannot be given away? maybe give slight alterations to the prizes to perhaps make people have to choose one or the other. thoughts? flames? ideas?

p.s. and if this is precisely what you had in mind, then kindly disregard this post and insert flames and off-topic comments, pics, and reboog stinks comments.

I miss out on most stuff b/c i work second shift so by the time i get home quest is already over of in the middle of it so I can't join. I work 3-1130 pm est and of course have to get ready etc so the only time I have to quest is the weekends and for some reason people don't want to run on sat or sun. the joys of being just a manufacturing grunt

Tox

Thanks for a great quest the other day - the best I have participated in since I started mudding here. Thank you for a great morning's fun.

Also, thank you for considering the plight of us quest challenged antipodeans.

Assuming that I have time conversions correct (quoting in GMT would make life easier to ensure accuracy) 9am central equates to 2 am here at the minute and 1am when day light saving finished at the end of the month., and for the players in Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan about 11 pm.

Realistically, for a 2-3 hour quest you need to be talking about 6am central time.

If you were prepared to do a later start, a time around 9 pm central , which if I get the conversions correct equate to 2pm here and about 11 am in the lagged parts of the Pacific / South East Asian region might be worth exploring.

In response to Firebrands suggestion, I don't think that this would work because, looking at the who list from the last quest, I don't think we could muster the fire power that would be needed.

Weekends is the best time for any quest. Lots of ppl are working or have things to do in the evening in the midweek and cant stay 2-3 hours for quest. 9am central time is 5pm for lots of russian players. I can get up early or go late sleep on the weekends, but i cant leave work for mudding. So please move it abit.

Quest Starting when?

Postby java » Thu Mar 12, 2009 9:03 am

It's nice to see any quest after none for quite some time. Also nice was seeing so much eq given for participating. My only suggestion for future quests is a little more notice.

Tox QUEST STARTS VERY SOON... "" Etc Etc..

Although I missed the Post of the Ninth, after seeing the Post on the morning of the 10th, I awaited further discussion about an agreed upon start time.
I was surprised that the whole thing was over mere hours later.
