you are on crack weasel. there is a total of 1 must have item in weavers for thieves. that's the razors and that's about it. all the rest only adds tiny
amnts of stabdmg for rather high prices. especially considering you can
just buy your cap in stabdmg with tokens. the robe is a solid item to round out stabdmg and save some xp, the rest aren't really that useful.

*With 20+ area's being made specifically for them.
*For insane damage.
*For doing in one round, whats requires me to do in a run.
*For insane amounts of xp and coins available in a second.
*For being sloth's most insanely over powered xp class.

I thought I'd observe a moments silence for the poor little thief class...

That ought to do it.

I went to the eq list and filtered Worn EQ by class restriction...

Mage Restricted EQ List Lines 1165 (Maybe Less, Would include M restrict)
Warrior Restricted EQ List Lines 927
Cleric Restricted EQ List Lines 866
Thief Restricted EQ List Lines 837
Necro Restricted EQ List Lines 594
Bard Restricted EQ List Lines 498
Druid Restricted EQ List Lines 450
Monk Restricted EQ List Lines 438

In all fairness, if eq was to be looked at... shouldn't new classo eq be looked at first? I mean you may have found a legit hole in thief eq between levels 3 x 40 and 4 x 40, but get a grip on the monk, druid and bard situation. In the grand scheme of things... mute point.

I'm of the opinion that the balance between the classes is as good as it has EVER been. The price you pay for being a stabber is spending a lot of time in the dead position. Also keep in mind that excrutiating blow doesn't occur nearly as often in solo or small group stab. It's either tied somehow to group size, probably the number of people who joined the warcry. You'd have a hard time convincing me that thief is owerpowered as a solo char.

Do you really think that you can't run island gold without thief in classo? Most of the coin mobs drop on 1 or 2 blasts and elemental school is largely nostab. As for XP, solo is inefficient. Grab yourself a stabber or gripper and run 2 man lyme xp. With your mana regen, you'll go far.

As for the number of eq restrictions for new classes on the website, it's an irrelevent statistic. New eq goes in generally when new areas go in. If you
think that druids lack some essential piece of gear, build an area and put the eq in yourself. Theres more gear for the old classes because they've been in twice as long (or longer?).

I agree. I was always under the assumption that the reason there are different classes is because people are different and it requires "different people" to comprise a group. If you balance everyone, then everyone is equally useless and skilless. Leave shit alone, let all classes and players retain their individuality.

ps. Dave (stryx) is plain nuts....

Give me a break Mike, You've worked me into a stereotype. I never mentioned the word druid once in that quoted post, nor did I say thieves were good at solo, nor did I state that they could kill some huge mob better than a necro or a druid or stryx. So what the heck are you going on about?

You've just decided I'm a whiner. And instead of being objective, I'm just getting lumped in your perception of what you think I'm trying to say.

The mud may be more balanced now than it's ever been, but I still say... thiefs stab better than clerics heal, mages blast, monks grip and bards sing. And that is why, I think additions done to others classes... NOT NECESSARILY MY OWN... should be done first before thieves.

I'm out to cool off.

i would submit this has at least as much to do with the mindset of people who play thief prime as it does the actual class ;)
