some new crackma eq would be nice

Please post your ideas to improve our mud.

It all depends on how much drachma eq players are supposed to have. I think some pieces sold for 1200+ drachma are all right, cause not that everybody should get high elite pieces.

Though, there is alot of useless eq that is worse than ingame going for 666+ drachma.

drachma

Postby Hades » Sun May 20, 2007 11:09 am

Umm.. you can get over 400 drachma at level 8 if you do the autoquest that allow it. Last count I believe it was 420 but it might be even more now. And that's NOT using the drachma cheat before anyone decides to spam me. There are several quest cheat sheets floating around in emails if you know who to ask.

oh, I forgot...

Got it!

Guards are nice...anything with decent ac and spell bonus.

I think the relice was around 950. No idea how much the mask costs.

I think the drachma estimates posted so far, are pretty far off for the average player. I don't know how you guys can get that much drachma. (Feel free to send me tells with lists of what I'm missing :)

I've been around a couple of years, I keep a spread sheet of every quest I've completed as well as those I hear rumors about. And people had been pretty generous in helping me with quests that I have been working on. But I don't think I've even heard of quests that would provide half what you guys are talking about, much less be able to do them at a low level.

Hopefully Krom or whoever won't let a couple of tards that have been here since Sloth 1 set the standard for all players.

For example: There is some 74 or so vk drachma available and (IMO) well over half of it isn't do-able by a level 8 character. Sure you can have higher level characters do it and have a level 8 take credit, but that isn't really doing the quest by a level 8 character.

Thanks Krom for looking at drachma situation! The game just gets better all the time.

Anyone, please feel free to add details of autoquests to this thread:

[url:xiku7rml]http://www.slothmud.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewforum&f=32[/url:xiku7rml]

Note the format used - just advise the initial quest mob and what is offered for completing the quest, and perhaps the degree of difficulty / approximate level of character (or group) required.

Thats the point. I think having average players get high elite eq would be lame.

A skilled player is able to get around 200 drachma on scatter.

Drachma and autoquests appeared just a couple years ago.

As a professional mage (*wink*) I think that drachma stuff is quite balanced. Though, some other classes need something useful to get for drachma too. Druids, for instance.

You have to realize that the the thief stuff there is pretty silly too. People won't give up good regular ingame dmg for something as paltry as stabdmg and/or circledmg, especially when you can just purchase it with XP tokens.

exactly Messiaen..

elite eq.. the very name means..
(they who get off their ass and work hard to attain it)

If you want to be spoon fed things you deserve just because you said so... then find another mud.

I can say that because I currently have 1020drach and I have spent over 1400 on eq's, spellbooks etc since I started doing the aq's. I try every aq I can find, I jump in all the quests and I most certainly go for scatters. It has nothing to do with char size, ac, wtf ever. It's all about motivation and dedication.

You want great eq? FANTASTIC! But drach eq has the same hard to love attributes as forges.

It will require hard work and endless hours cycling and hoping your in the right areas..

so to all those who think prices are unfair, get up off your butt and work harder.

I wasn't saying exactly that prices are unfair, just that the eq is pretty sucky in general. But I guess any price for sucky eq is too high. I would say use the robes as a good benchmark for pricing. They are the standard shit that everyone gets at least one of.

The robes are a perfect example of an item marked way too low 13.

Drachma

Postby Avatar » Mon May 21, 2007 10:59 am

I don't think there's anything wrong with having some cheap robes in there. The robes are nice because there's enough variety, everyone can find some robe that they like.

I guess the imms need to decide A) how much dr should be given for a standard imm-sponsored quest then B) how many standard quests a mortal should see before she can buy a low / med / high quest eq.

Most casters will never get to choose an actual quest item during a quest, so drachma is a good way to reward players who didn't tank or lead.

There is nothing wrong with having cheaper robes in the drachma shops. But an item that is max AC and takes up 1/4 or 1/3 of a players spell or heal bonus cap for close to nothing was a mistake:)

The purpose of these shops is to give people a goal to achieve whom otherwise would never gain quest eq from Immortal run quests. A new player or common player should have to work much harder achieve this than those who have been around longer.

Please keep this in mind as we tweak prices and come up with better eq for the shops.

Eventually I would like to see players able to build their own items. They would select a location, the affects, stats, name, etc and the weaver would build them their item.

Building drachma eq would be sweet as hell and unquie to everyone.
Would be hard for everyone to have the same eq then. Each would be
for that specific char only...

I guess cost would depend on were the eq would be on, neck, fingers,
about body, shield ... would be kick ass! Damn thiefs would go crazy for
building Dam on eq! Well a Dam on Shield would be nice, Spiked Shield!
