3x40, 5x40, personal items

What are the reasons that we can not put 3x40, avatar lights and personal items into vaults?

I believe I changed vaults to allow restrings and personal eq quite some time ago...

We will not allow av lights or triple 40 eq to be vaulted. This is mostly to prevent players from obtaining more of these items than they are supposed to have...

As far as I know it is being tracked and tracked very good.

Putting a 3x40 item in a vault will “hide” the item.
Putting a 3x40 item on a storage character will “hide” the item even better.
So I do not believe that an immortal will give out a 3x40 item without making sure that it should be given.

Is it just an option that prevents vaulting of 3x40 item or it requires coding to implement that?

Also, was it considered to have a shop where you can pick your 3x40 item without waiting and disturbing immortals?

Having to get your storage character on, get the item over to your main char, and gettting the existing piece of triple 40 EQ back to the storage char is a lot more visible then going into a vault depositing one item and withdrawing another (because you don't want to ever have 3 items on you, it can be picked up.)

As for tracking, yes that is true but there are lots of ways people can get triple 40 items in excess of 2 for one char, including buying the, picking them up when someone gets fed up and drops all their stuff, hacking a char and a few bugs people have exploited in the past, and in fact folks have been caught doing exactly that.

Bottom line is using vaults would make it far easier then the whole hassles of using storage chars, and is far less detectable. If you have a character who has good enough EQ that you would want to vault your quintx50 light or triple 40 EQ because you have other EQ that is so much better, I'm sure you can afford the rent.

Acutally you can also ask an immort to take the 3x40 eq off the chars.
Then when u want to play that char or something, u can ask for the 3x40
eq back. Just don't make a habbit of asking an immort every other week...

How about make the items personal. Then the whole issue is solved.

We thought of this, the problem is many objects do not get updated when someone logs into the game. Which then means I or someone else would get stuck exchanging a thousand triple 40 eq items. None of us want to do that.

I will flag them personal when I get around to it for those who reach triple 40 from this pt on though....

I have already stated that personal eq can be vaulted, if and when I change the triple 40 eq to personal those items will obviously thenl be able to be vaulted. Thats if your triple 40 eq becomes personal. If your item gets flagged to personal by rent or login, good. If not, you can try to bug another Immortal for an exchange, but I will not be doing them. Sorry...

Isn't a record kept on the pfile of whether the char has had the 3x40 item awarded or not anyway? If so, pretty hard to try and somehow rip off the system.. heh.

The records are only as good as those who keep them. Im pretty sure we have made several mistakes recording triple 40 eq when we are speaking about thousands of items...

Anyways, all the trip40 eq has been changed to personal.
