Map Quest

As many of you are aware, there's a lot of work that needs to be done to improve the maps on the wiki,. In fact, there are some areas that don't even have maps. Today, I scattered six golden quest tickets around the mud in random places. Thusfar, five of these tickets have been claimed. These tickets give the holder the right to participate in this map quest.

On Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. CST (US Time), I will collect the tickets that have been claimed. Only one ticket per person will be accepted. The ticket bearer will then claim a map that he or she will work on and submit by Sunday night around 7:00 p.m. CST (US Time). This map submission will be the final draft, and I will accept map submission starting Saturday so tht, if need by, the appropriate corrections can be made.

What's the incentive to submit a map during the quest rather than in normal fashion? Well, quite plainly, questers will receive not only the standard reward for their map (an amount of drachma according to the quality and size of the map) but a bonus reward. The bonus reward will be announced at the time of final submission.

There are some rules, however:

1. Absolutely no selling of tickets. Any ticket that is sold will result in disqualification of the map and the bearer of the ticket from the quest.

2. You may not submit a map for an area that has already been claimed.
3. Maps that are submitted through normal channels will have a lower priority than the maps that are submitted during the questing period as part of the quest.
4. Finally, and most importantly, each map must comply as best as possible to the Map Submission Guidelines as defined on the wiki pages. At this very moment, I'm doing the finishing touches on that page, and should have them done shortly. Links will be provided when the Nap Submission page is finished. I will also make an announcement in the forum when that page is finalized.

The area that questers choose to map may be one of the following:

1. An area that does not have a map.
2. An area with a map that doesn't appear to meet the new guidelines.
3. An area map that is incomplete.
4. A map that is currently on the agenda of maps to be updated or created.


While five tickets have been claimed thusfar, there is still one ticket out there. May the best hunter find it. Questers, good luck. NOTE: The immortal staff reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason, or no reason at all, to this quest, the times, or the dates involved therein. We will do our best to update you guys here on this thread should that occur.

The Map submissions wiki page has been created and is ready for viewing by anyone who has access to the website. In time, the page will be improved, but for the purpose of the quest and general information, it's ready to go. You can find a link off the Slothmud Wiki Continents page.

hey. i junkied one quest ticked, gimme my prize please.

You didn't complete the quest, therefore no prize for you! The prize of the sixth, lost ticket will be added to the rewards of the remaining five rewards once the quest has been completed.

We are now down to five tickets. The quest has now been changed from six tickets to five thanks to Tuk's generous sacrifical contrbution to the remaining questers. No other changes to the quest have been made. We'll see the remaining questers tonight at around 6:00 p.m. CST US Time. Thanks for playing!

I am currently accepting quest tickets THIS evening. So far, two tickets have been collected. You can meet me in the game. Prepare to be transed to me when you are ready to submit your ticket. There are three more to receive and three more maps to be claimed. Currently, the claimed maps are:

As it has come to my attention that two tickets were gathered by the same character, one of those tickets has been redistributed. It's waiting for someone to go find it. That leaves one claimed ticket unaccounted for and one unclaimed ticket unaccounted for. If the redistributed ticket is not claimed and turned in within the next couple of hours, I will accept that ticket on Thursday.

Remember, there is a ticket yet to be found and claimed. Should the remaining tickets not be claimed, they will be locked out by the end of the day, and we will proceed to the next portion of the quest. Good luck guys! As of 10:15 a.m. CST US Time, we are now open for receiving the two remaining golden quest tickets. I hope to see the two remaining tickets today before I head off to Thanksgiving Day festivities sometime around 5:00 p.m. CST US Time (-6:00 GMT). If not, I'll try to pop in for some time afterwards.

So, bring in those tickets!

The first leg of the map quest is now closed. No more quest tickets will be accepted for this quest. Thanks to those of you who turned in a ticket and are working hard on maps. I look forward to your submissions. Please remember that the day for final submissions of your maps is Sunday. I will begin accepting maps antyime between now and sunday. I would suggest submitting maps no later than Saturday, however, in case there are revisions to be made.
