Suggestions for drachma/elite equipment

Please give name of item, stats and suggested costs.

Ideas used will get a reasonable amount of drachma per piece added to the game. This is a much quicker way for us to get this done that trying to attack the issue ourselves.

First of all, great idea and thanks again for asking/listening.

I would like to see some creativity applied during this revamp, so rather than just items with good stats, how about (in addition) having stuff like this:

Charm of Duplicity (clasp) - Mage Prime - increases number of possible mirror images by 1

Strip of Purity (clasp) - Monk Prime - increases counterattack chance by 10%

Wreath of Skulls (clasp) - Necromancer Prime - increases necromancer's juju power by 20% (hps, + hit, + dam, regen, ac etc)

Garter of the Guardian (clasp) - Cleric Prime - increases cleric's aerial servant hps by 20%

Sash of the Swordsman (clasp) - Warrior Prime - increases parry/riposte chance by 10%

Star of Conservation (clasp) - Druid Prime - reduces mana consumption when shifted by 5%

Ribbon of the Merciless (clasp) - Thief Prime - +5% to stab & circle damage across the board

Medal of Charisma (clasp) - Bard Prime - + 10% to charisma

All of these could be priced at around 400-450 drachma imho.



I also think that there should be some items for group roles:

Banner of Leadership - Held Low, 4X40 restricted, 350 drachma:

When held by a leader of a group of 4 players or more (including leader):

Affects leader by:
+5.0 AC
- 5 damage
- 100 mana

Affects group by:
-improves Point player's AC by -1.0
-reduces movement cost for the whole group by 30%
-increases exp/coins for the group by 10% .

Belt of the Protector - Belt, Warrior Prime, 4X40 restricted, 400 drachma:

When worn by a Point player in a group of 4 players or more:

Affects Point player by:

-0.2 AC,
-100 moves
- 50 hps
- reduces mana regen by 50%

Affects group by:

- guarantees 100% success rate on all rescues
- reduces chance of failed defy by 50% for all front line players
- reduces % of attacks taken by non-point frontline players by 20% (they are redirected to the point player)
- reduces probability of group collapse by 30%
- reduces number of front players required to keep group from collapsing by 1

Dual Wands of Recovery - Weapon, 4 X 40 + Druid Prime restricted, 400 drachma:


When wielded by a player in a group of 4 people or more (player must be in backline):

Affects wielder by:
-10 damage
- 100 mana
- 100 hp
- 30 mregen

Affects group by:
- increases mana regen by 15% for all backline
- increase hp regen by 20% for all frontline
- increases movement regen for the group by 10%
- provides permanent fire/cold resistance effects similar to fire/chill bane

Symbol of Martyrdom - Held High, 4 X 40 Cleric Prime, 400 drachma:

When held by a player in a group of 4 people or more (player must be in backline):

Affects holder by:
- 300 hp
- stops HP regen
- + 10.0 AC

Affects group by:
- reducing manacost of healing spells by 20%
- reducing probability of losing concentration on healing spells by 50%
- increasing healbonus for all backline by 25 (over and above cap)

Sleeves of Carnage, 4 X 40, Mage Prime, 400 drachma:

When worn by a player in a group of 4 people or more (player must be in backline):

Affects player by:

+ 10.0 AC
- 100 mana
- 10 mregen
- 100 healbonus

Affects group by:
-reducing manacost of mage damage spells by 10%
-reducing probability of losing conc on mage damage spells by 50%
-increasing spelldam for all backline by 10% over and above cap

None of these items can be used by the same player together.

Okie think there's a lack of nice heal bonus eq ingame so something like this may be nice:

Divine Band of Healing: +2 ma regen +10healbonus +1maxwis (on finger)
cost: 400 drachma (Cleric Prime Restricted)

Also since choker of midnight sapphires ingame now-maybe Crystalline Sguards need to be revamped? like +4mana regen +20mana -0.3 ac (or something..)

Giggle and lastly, I dream of an item like this so might as well throw it out there because sometimes dreams come true..

Arcane Adamantite Armor: -2.4 ac -2savespells +1maxint (on body)
cost: 1000 drachma

I would really love to see how one would balance all that suggested eq.
For an example:
It cost 1000 drachma to get extra +1 dam on hands.
That devil staff may cost 499 drachma and would let you use all yr weapon damage. Don't get me wrong but I would charge 5000 drachma for it.

As I ve already stated ... it would be probably wiser to rework current drachma eq that noone wants and add a few extra pieces that most people would love it. Max_charisma, Max_UC eq would rock !

I think it would be instructive to have some feedback from immortals working on this project as to their view of the items suggested so far.

I'm not saying you need to give a response to every suggestion but maybe an overview and general stuff like:

"We are/are not interested in clasps of the type Insomniac suggested because..."
"We are/are not interested in group orientated items Insomniac suggested because..."
"We will/will not consider creating items that give stats/max stats in the load slot as Mug suggested because..."
"MaxCharisma/MaxUC items would/would not be a cool idea because..."

Also, it would be VERY helpful to know of items/classes/stats etc which you would like to see better represented, i.e.:

"We would like more suggestions for thief items"
"We feel that warriors have plenty of items already"

etc etc

Hi all, just wanted to toss out another type of idea for spending my well (or poorly) earned drachma. I was wondering whether we could get an actual blacksmith type mob set up that would be able to build custome equipment for each person. I realize this could get very ugly trying to balance all of the equipment slots in terms of costs/benefits, so maybe to start with, a clasp builder. This idea might overlap too much with avatar lights/9x40 avatar bonus purchases, and I'm sure that's where the idea came from (creativity = not my strong suit), but this might provide some interim customization for people who are still a long way away from 9x40 (which is most of us).

My thought is that for say 200 drachma, you can buy a black clasp template with a custom name and the attachment spot of your choosing. You could then bring it back to the blacksmith, and for extra drachma add in bonuses. Limit the number of clasps that can be built (maybe only allow 1 per character). I would also scale the costs of the bonuses in terms of the bonus itself (max_stat > stat > regen > spell effect) as well as the number of bonuses already applied to the clasp (say double the cost for each additional bonus). I would suggest that these scale these similar to the avatar bonus list so that there aren't conflicts. There could also be limits to how many of each bonus you could put on (say only one max_stat per clasp)

As an example, and using the avatar shop costs as the baseline, lets say for the clasp bonus costs were 100 drachma per 10million xp cost in the shop listing. In other words, 0.1 ac would costs 300, max stats would cost 200, regular stats would cost 100, etc. I could then buy a template for 200 drachma, decide I wanted some max_dex on it, which would cost me an additional 200. Maybe I still had drachma burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted some more hand damage. The base price for hand damage would be 50, but because it is the second slot, it would cost me 100. If I wanted some more, the next point of hand damage would cost me 200, etc.

Just an idea to throw out there

ugly peacock sleeves

Peacock feathers from twenty or thirty birds compose these elaborate "sleeves"

So what qualifies as drachma eq anymore anyways. We have some ingame stuff that oftentime surpass most drachma eq (see Cizin's long list of undesireable/trash drachma eq). Are we just tacking on more stats and disregarding any semblance of balance?


-13ac 1400+ hp tanks with who knows how much +hit and +damage, which would have been considered game breaking or whatever in s3, doesn't seem to be too unfeasible nowadays. And no avatar bonuses either! So do we just keep giving them more hp and more ac?

What is the normal growth for eq nowadays anyways? I really liked the eq nerfs in s4, since I finally had a better sense of growth, rather than getting to -10 ac at 1x40 and then getting marginal gains for the next 100 levels. But it broke down after 3x40, when I could finally wear my -1.7 greaves and some other fun stuff. Nothing much to cycle after that, or the gain was marginal at best.

That said, Insomniac's original clasp ideas do seem to add an additional level of dimensional to the game, but highly doubt they'd be implementable with our current system.

Mug's use of the additional item slot seems more for the extra stat it conveys rather than actually firing them as projectiles, although firing wizard brains at mobs would be rather fun. Ah, an infinite keychain. That would be nice, but we do have limits for a reason! Life is boring without choices with consequences.

Bettina has some nice ideas, although the armor might compete too directly with the 3x40 Shroud.

150 hp on a single item, added ac or not, seems way too much. Of course it would be intended for those who have max hp sets, since no one in their right mind would wear it into combat. Maxhp is already funny enough as it is. A staggering 150 is enormous.

So again, I'm really curious what distinguishes drachma eq from high end forges, or hard to pop eq? For instance, what about something that is superior to Ars? Or is that particular item meant to be undisputed end game eq... at 2x40.

In my opinion, and this does not reflect the opinion of anyone else or the admin of sloth, but drachma eq should be the desireable eq at av40.

In my mind, I feel the progression of eq should relate to how much exp a person can solo in an hour or how large a mob a person can solo (with added skills and levels, of course) and also how that relates to their power added into grouping. There has to be a balance between the two, solo and grouping).

What I'm attempting to do is make at least 90% of the drachma eq desireable, and not just junk. Who's going to buy a .3 wrist with minor bonuses on it just to throw it away at level 40 prime? No one in their right mind, if you ask me.

This isn't an item suggestion although I am trying to think of some of them, but as an idea it would be nice if we could get more then 1/3 back for selling drachma equip we have bought in the past. I am not opposed to loosing some drach for an item I might of used for 80 levels but the drachma equip you may want/need at 2x40 may be very different then drachma equip you want/need at 4x40. Just a thought.
