Avoiding destruction of temp eq

There's some handy eq on Lyme and Valkyre with the TEMPORARY flag. So far I'm awfully sloppy at remembering that I'm carrying such eq before leaving the continent. For those of you who do make or have made a habit of using such eq, what strategy did you find effective for preventing yourself from forgetting to vault the eq before departure?

When I wear such equipment I have triggers that set variables for each particular temp item. Then I have another type of trigger that will not let me send any command to the mud which would allow me to leave the continent, if any of those variables are set. The trigger will then inform me of what is not allowing me leave the continent.
