I just wanted to say hello to you all and introduce myself
I've recently returned to mudding after ah...hrm...10 year break?
I played a heavily modified Envy 2 mud called Land of Legends for about 7 years and loved it. I got heavily into PK muds for a while, God Wars and its derivatives, but Land of Legends was my first love. Alas, the owners shut it down and, while I tried to find somewhere new to play, it just wasn't the same.
My gaming focus shifted considerably and I got heavily into FPS games, specifically Counterstrike, then Counterstrike Source. I still play a lot and run a community with some friends. I've also played World of Warcraft since beta but they've now dumbed it down to such an extreme that it just isn't fun. I'm a member of a semi-hardcore raid guild but have taken an extended break as I wasn't enjoying doing the same old thing.
In real life, I'm 30, Scottish and live in the south of England. I am coming to the end of a four year graduate development program with the UK government. Good to see the end finally in sight!
Anyway, that's me.
I started playing Sloth yesterday and I'm very taken with it. As it is a Diku-rivative, it isn't a far cry to the Envy that I'm used to, and I'm slowly getting to grips with things. I've been impressed with the friendly and helpful folks that I've encountered so far!
